The Release Of The Astonishing Swordsmen & Sorcerers of Hyperborea Offical Cover Art For The Adventure "The Mystery at Port Greely," by Jeffrey Talanian

So the official Mystery At Port Greely adventure by Jeff Talanian cover art has been released today for the upcoming Kickstarter. The Mystery At Port Greely is based upon the HP Lovecraft story Shadow Over Innsmouth. The adventure is going to be geared for the Astonishing Swordsmen and Sorcerers of Hyperborea rpg system but knowing Jeff's writing and design as I do, this adventure is going to have brand new twists and turns to it.
"Haow'd ye like to be livin' in a taown like this, with everything a-rottin' and' a-dyin', an' boarded-up monsters crawlin' an' bleatin' an' barkin' an' hoppin' araoun' black cellars an' attics every way ye turn? Hey? Haow'd ye like to hear the haowlin' night arter night from the churches an Order o' Dagon Hall, an' known what's doin' part o' the haowlin? Haow'd ye like to hear what comes from that awful reef every May-Eve an' Hallowmass? Hey?... Wal, Sir, let me tell ye that ain's the wust!... Yew want to know what the reel horror is, hey? Wal, it's this -- it ain't what them fish-devils hez done, but what they're a-goin' to do!" -- The warning of Zadok Allen in "The Shadow Over Innsmouth" by H.P. Lovecraft
Charles Lang of Salem Massachusetts did the cover art and I think it fits themes and menace of the adventure quite nicely. The port and its evirons will no doubt challenge PC's and promises to be a kick ass adventure. Give the way that these adventures are written this one could be ported over to your own campaign world but given the way that Hyperborea is;it might be better for your PC's to land within the bounds of Hyperborea itself. But what is up with Port Greely? Well as near as I can tell your adventurers are going to be in for a rough time. Here's the adventure blurb;"Until recently, the peculiar village of Port Greely was renowned as one of the most prolific exporters of crustaceans in the realm. Then, about three years ago, the Greely lobstermen severed all ties with outside partners. Subsequent attempts at renegotiation were shunned. More recently, a small group of Fishmongers’ Guild representatives from the City-State of Khromarium has gone missing in Port Greely, and answers have been less than forthcoming. At present, the guild seeks answers. They want to know what became of their representatives, and they wish to reestablish their lucrative partnership with the Port Greely lobstermen. Your party has been contracted to help resolve the mystery at Port Greely."

Two parts sword and sorcery action coupled with a whole lot of Lovecraftian hi jinks centered around one hell of a dangerous adventure location. This sounds like its going to be a blast to run.  I can't wait till this adventure is released to the wilds. We've also got new adventures in the pipeline, including "The Mystery at Port Greely" (Talanian), "The Beasts of Kraggoth Manor" (Callahan), "The Anthropophagi of Xamboola" (Walden), and "The Sea-Wolf's Daughter" (Talanian).

So this is one of the adventures that I've been closely following in 2016 and can't wait to see when the Kickstarter comes out. When I know you will know and I be keeping up with the developments of "The Mystery at Port Greely."
