Close Encounters of the Wretched Kinda - OSR Campaign Commentary : Wretched Conspiracies, The Invisible College rpg, and The Greys

 

One the things that we've seen in our circles has been the fact that 'The Invisible College' rpg  hasn't gotten more traction. This blog post is going to pick up right where this blog left off . And this morning I got together with my players discussing  Wretched Conspiracies over coffee & breakfast. 
And the players started discussing the fact that thier PC's had encountered ultra tellurians in this case Greys. The Greys had a rather rough time with our people in Wretched Darkness. And the player's PC's barely survived. They have a vendetta so to speak against the Greys. 
Our party's shaman played by Pete is a bit of an unhinged nutcase whose ancestor is just as unhinged in our Wretched Epoque campaign. 
These Greys are not what you might think but ancient horrors from before the Great Flood whose ancestors fled between the elements into the Beyond. 
And here's where the forces of the 'The Invisible College' rpg come into play. The fact is that some of the more radical occult elements of the conspiraces of the invisible college are responsible for opening the breach into the Beyond. 

The Greys have been active as far back as the 1800's. However it was Aleister Crowley who opened the Breach; "As early as 1917, the occultist Aleister Crowley described a meeting with a "preternatural entity" named Lam that was similar in appearance to a modern Grey. Crowley believed he had contacted the entity through a process that he called the "Amalantrah Workings," which he thought allowed humans to contact beings from outer space and across dimensions. Other occultists and ufologists, many of whom have retroactively linked Lam to later Grey encounters, have since described their own visitations from him, with one describing the being as a "cold, computer-like intelligence," and utterly beyond human comprehension" 

Our players encounters with these entities and thier agenda goes back into Wretched Epoque where the player's PC's crossed into the post apocalytic wasteland of the Beyond. These horrors waited on the otherside in the Beyond and grabbed two of our players for experiementation. This all came to pass in Wretched Apocalpyse. So the players have a bit of a vendetta and this goes back all of the way into our LoFP Carcosa games as a matter of fact
