These fungal assassins & guardians are often encountered by those who have displeased the sporcery guild. They are mistaken for undead & the strange wispy creatures do nothing to dispel this illusion. They are often sent out among the solar winds where their odd bodies act as solar sails carrying them along for millions of light years. They are capable of generating a hyperspace shunt through a psionic pulse. The act does drain them of some power.
Once they're chosen target is found they follow at a distance disguising themselves with a psionic illusion of an elderly woman. The target will perceive the monster as a beloved relative & that's when the monster strikes. Breaking itself down into a smaller group of creatures the monster strikes & drains its victim of all blood plus vital organs.
The corpse provides all of the raw materials for the next Q'thyroon to hatch. It is said that the monster provides a complete blue print of the Dna & Rna of the target for the sporcery guild. There are dark rumors which say that the sporcery guild clones some of their targets from data that the Q'thyroon provides.
The Q'thyroon is said to be a soul stealer in some primitive human space societies & that their targets are tormented by the creatures forever.
The tendrils of the Q'thyroon strike for 1d8 & drain 1d4 points of intelligence per hit. Unless a save vs. is made. They often leave their targets as drooling idiots as lessons for others. They then will go about slowly draining the body of all characteristics & increase the torment a bit at a time.
Finally to add insult to injury the creature leaves spores in the corpse behind once the target is dead. These will burst into new Q'thyroon within 1d4 hours. The new creatures are just as capable as the parent can attack with its violence as well.
Q'thyroon fear fire & energy weapons however.
