The Camongo is a strange AI survivor in the form of a deadly fungus. The planet faced extinction during its final Atomic Wars & so the planetary A.I.'s simply converted themselves into a biological hive mind. This fungus escaped into the greater universe 200 years later where it has remained one of the most heinous threats a spacer can face.
Infection by this fungus does more then simply take over its victim; the fungus rewrites his memories & instincts. The victim becomes an unwitting carrier for a biological computer virus. This virus causes the victim to go about his daily routine until a black out occurs. These black outs are the virus simply assuming control & promoting its own agenda. The fungus infects any nearby technology & eats all the information followed by the metallic content of this technology. Bio molecular acid is manufactured that can break down near anything & is simply absorbed back into the fungus itself after 2 rounds. The fungus often has a habit of talking to itself & victims can hold random conversations with themselves as the victim talks to the fungus's past victims including A.I's & other alien consciousnesses.
The motives of the fungus are unclear at this time but scientists are working on this. The fungus as a certain fondness for telecommunications & computer networks though.
The fungus will eventually take over its victim completely & change them over to the hive mind. The effects aren't pleasant but can vary for a little while

Random Camongo Effects Roll 1d6
- The victim spouts off random galactic information followed by a stream of gibberish. There is a 1d6 chance that every other round he will spout a sanity shattering greater truth. These will lower the person's hearing them intelligence by 1 or 2 points
- The hive mind is curious about you & wants to talk for a bit before trying to absorb your information & consciousness into itself
- Give us a hug the victim lunges at a random pc in order to infect them.Turn to the person to your left or right & leer followed by an attack(In game of course)
- 1d6 random faces of past victims erupt from the infected skin & begin to wail in pain & grief. -2 to all int.rolls for 2 rounds
- An oily substance rolls of the arms of the victim making it very slick around them. -1 on all dexterity based actions for one round
- The fungus has an over load & simply explodes doing 1d6 points of damage to those around it. It will randomly grow eyes, mouth parts, etc. & begin to react.
Creepily bizarre! Nice!
