"He has a business proposition for the travelers. It seems that his daughter Sasha was kidnaped during a pirate raid on a yacht while on a pleasure cruise in the sector. Her ship was visiting exotic spatial anomalies when her ship was boarded by pirates from the Red Skull Pirate organization which has been terrorizing the shipping lanes recently. This group has been deemed responsible for many instances of piracy, kidnaping, murder and other criminal activity. Their organization seems to have many pirate ships and crews working in coordination with each other."

Now this morning I stumbled across Joseph Mohr's Reckoning on the Facebook Cepheus Engine rpg group. Now even though Reckoning is for the Senora sector it's easily transportable to our Godstar/Cepheus Engine campaign .
Imagine if you will that for some months now the wormhole has been open between the Empire of the Million Stars and the Clement Sector. And imagine that several of the pirate organizations discussed in Clement sector's Skull and Crossbones: Piracy in Clement Sector Third Edition have been very active in the Godstar region of space setting up illegal colonies. And generally making a nuisance of themselves. Now the Million Stars Empire doesn't want to provoke a war with the Clement sector. And yet these filthy pirates have been raiding across your space. What do!! And then some noble house patron's daughter has been kidnapped. And now the opportunity is there to use the firey wrath of a father's love for all out genocide and all that's needed are some dupes to take the fall. 

And because of the clanedestine nature of Reckoning it's a perfect little set up for the bounty hunting ideas for both Godstar and Moon Toad Publishing's Bounty Hunter Handbook. 
The PC's are going to have to go after the Red Skull pirate organization and whose behind the money for the illegal colony and pirate base?! 
And what about law enforcement within 

the Million Stars empire?! Well, Badge: Law Enforcement in Clement Sector has some options for private or undercover law enforcement who may be on loan from the corporations into the Million Stars empire. 
There's also the fact that the 'sand dogs' mercenaries are going to be primed to move into the Clement sector. Why? Because these forces are perfectly suited to the extreme environs that the Clement sector has in spades. And the difference between mercenaries or sand dog militaries and pirates is a murky one at best and an open invitation at worst. As I said last blog entry and the fact is that the blackness between these two sectors is prime for any number of failed colonies, rogue sectors, and worse. And Reckoning is a perfect blueprint for the renagade pirates that are taking full advantage of the situation between the Million Stars Empire and the Clement sector!
