2d6 Random Alien Relics Of The Swarm Table For Your Cepheus Engine or 2d6 Old School Science Fiction Games

 They come from 'Outside' and care little for your universe or pleasantries. We are nothing more then experimental fodder to them. And yet they leave behind some of thier artifacts and trash for us to find. Some of these are bewildering, others dangerous, and still others utterly alien.

And yet thier debris itself could be a miracle or damnation for mankind.Tread lightly in the face of such articles & toys of 'The Swarm'.  Pray that you don't attract the attention of the hivemind. 

2d6 Random Alien Relics Of The Swarm

  1. The paper doll - An odd artifact that looks like a fabric shadow humanoid. The thing will activate with the right magnetic or static electricity application and become a bendable and movable micro cybernetic lifeform. 4/7, Move 20 M, Fly 40M ,Armor 3,  Claw (3D danmage), Survival 3, Melee 2, Combat 2, - The paper dolls carry out the will of thier swarm masters via a telepathic link 
  2. Can of Elastic Liquid - This can of psuedo plable liquid micro phages allows the owner to encase anyone in a layer of telepathically controlled strait jacket like holdings. The liquid will flow over and encase one two meter tall indivdual. The material can easily be called back into it's holding can by a psionic. 
  3. Ball of Null Space - This 12 MM sphere of null space  allows the Swarm member or psionic to control a miniature point of space that can strip the atoms away from any non organic material allowing the base material to be arranged in a more pleasing (alien) shape. This is most often used to create fuel or other exotic materials for interstellar travel. Not much is known about these psionically controlled artifacts. 
  4. Rod of Kuy - This carbon rod stores billions of bits of information for the Swarm and it also contains the cure for cancer as well. The rod may copy or store a complete DNA or RNA profile of an organic being doing so does 2d6 points of damage to the indivdual and a disease throw must be made afterward or the target is vulnerable to many common and uncommon diseases. 
  5. The Possessor - The possessor is a small calmshell like device that allows the Swarm to take complete control andpossession of an indivdual once they pick it up. The device reprograms the indivdual with the following almost animal like instincts for  Survival 3, Melee 2, Combat 2, & the indivdual is linked directly with the Swarm hive mind.
  6. Liquid Vileness - This completely and utterly black liquid is actually millions and millions of nanophages of the Swarm that is used to reduce an organic to it's base atoms in seconds. This material does 2d6 points of damage per round if exposed to organic material. Liquid vileness is stored in glass and a copperlike jars and released by the Swarm on indivduals that they have a special loathing for. 
  7. The Globe - A glowing orb of light & psionic haze plus a matrix of telepathic energy. The globe is a floating computer like network used by the Swarm to seduce and corrupt anyone they come across into joining them. The globe envelops the mind of the target and a mental dice throw must be made to resist the incoming blast of telepathic messages of good will, comfort, conformity, etc. that the target gets. 
  8. The Rearranger - This strange combination of plastic, brass parts, and knobs is built arround an odd screen of electronics. Not made for human hands but the insectoid manipulators of the elder swarm members this device has Medicine-3 built into it's database. The reason for this is the fact that Swarm members have built the Rearranger from the minds of human doctors that they've abducted over the centuries. The device can heal a target but if the operator misses thier skill check the target takes 2d6 damage. 
  9. The Eye of Horus - This odd alien device has been created by a lattice of unstable atoms and memory metals. The device allows one to view in any spectrum when one looks through it. 
  10. The Gear - This strange multi spoked gear like device is  made from a hard ceramic and bone like substance and allows it's owner to pass through or by the atoms of structures. If the device is dropped and it is slippery the owner will be stuck in the atomic structure of the wall they were trying to pass through taking 2d6 damage per round. 
  11. The Lynic Pin - This three meter long device is able to pry apart a spacial hole in reality allowing one to journey between alternative hyperspacial points. The pin can also point at a target and open mirco hyperspacial holes in a target for 2d6 points of damage. The device may also turn on it's owner if it feels threatened. 
  12. The Loop - This device is made from a 1 atom thick piece of an alien substance and allows one to slice through any material but very,very, slowly. The loop allows one to alien operations and join strange substances together. It's function remains unknown
