It's been a long while since we've spoken about Zozer Games Godstar setting.
So going over some of my notes for Cepheus Engine campaign last year in a notebook I noted Zozer Games Godstar and the idea of a Cepheus Engine bountyhunter game using both Godstar and Moon Toad Publishing's Bounty Hunter Handbook.
Why Godstar? The great houses of the Million Sun Empire jockey for position and scheme to control Aurelia. The crater cities teem with mercenaries, spies, and cultists.
The Million Sun Empire has been cut off from the rest of the universe for hundreds of years in other Cepheus Engine campaigns we've run over the years. We recently did this within the Space Western setting of the Clement Sector by Independence Games. And the juxiposition of the Clement sector with the Godstar sector was both jarring and excellent.
Imagine if you will that the same wormhole that cut off the Clement sector from Earth also cut off the planet of Aurelia. The Million Sun empire was an up and coming interstellar empire and Earth was beginning to feel the heat of the economic super power and the Clement sector was continuing it's expansion. Then it all came to a shuttering halt with the collapse of the wormhole gateways?!
Recently the gateways between the Clement sector and the Million Sun empire have opened up. And the trade tensions between the two sectors are incredible. Now interstellar pirate fleet fleeing the frontier justice of the Clement sector has crossed into the Million Suns empire via the worm hole gate and drive connection.
So what would this style of crossover game mean? The answer to this might be Space Western meets Middle Eastern style Interstellar Silk Road. The sheer weirdness of culture clashes would be significant and present some very interesting money making opportunities for both the Million Suns Empire and the Clement sector.
If these two powers have had contact in the past then they both could be near mythic in the eyes of the other. Manhunters: Bounty Hunters in Clement Sector is another Clement sector title that could be used in conjunction with such a campaign. The opportunities for interstellar pirates on both sides of the wormholes might be both vast and highly dangerous. The corporations of the Clement sector would have to learn whole new ways of doing business not to mention the fact that there are plenty of points where the overlap of circumstance may add in whole cloth opportunities for adventure. And then there's the fact that the vast distances could hold incredible terrors for both the Clement sector & the Million Suns Empire.
