The Shadow of the Serpent Men III - The Twist of the Fang & The Tightening of The Coil - Session Report

Artwork from the  OSPREY GHOST ARCHIPELAGO  Miniatures game
more information here.

The party barely made it out alive from  Tomb of the Serpent Kings - Deluxe Print Edition by Skerples. In the end they grabbed whatever treasure they could & made for the hill villages & town. They completed the king's request. And recovered the amulet that belonged to his daughter.

DM Steve is still down with a nasty case of food poisoning, yes he's recovering quite nicely.  It seems like forever since we've talked about the game of 'The Shadow of the Serpent Men' mini campaign. Quite a bit has been happening but tonight we got together for a small pre Halloween party. The soda was flowing & already things were going pretty solid. There was fire roaring & things were nice. We were all following safety proceedures following Covid 19 lines. The adventurers have freed themselves from the dungeons of the king.
The party went into town to requip and there were rumors swirling about the Master. The PC's were trying get their zombie victim healed. They heard about some of the weirdness surrounding Dave Cook's X5 Temple of Death in town.

The town sits on the edge of a mysterious jungle & wasteland desert. There are many villages dotting the landscape. They've already run into a couple of mutated villagers & the party is starting to suspect that they might not be in Kansas. There was talk about a village over the mountains to the West that has a moat house that needs to be cleared. But for the moment they want to stay put in town & are hold up in an inn called the Skink's Eye.
They've gone to see a local sage about the history of the Zaharan Sorcerer-Queen Semiramis & some of her serpent men Ilk as well as their links to some of the history of the Elves in the region.

With the fire crackling I linked this history back unto Cyfaraun & its long rumored horrors & corruption. Evidence of elven construction is still visible in the city’s oldest district, today called Old Cyfaraun. The party started looking funny at the Elven sell sword that's had their back for some time now.

So now the party is searching the town for signs of serpent men hybrids & possible cultists. They heard some rumors of some savage murders at the edge of town. They made their way to the edge of the wasteland where the wind blows savage & found a human thigh bone jutting from a grate! Embrace the way of Yig and Thoth-Amon, and despair! The city guard brushed the party off as the bones belonging to one of the local city drunks who disappeared two weeks ago. But they know better & their taking the bones back to the sage & his alchemist partner for analysis.

So now they've started to investigate the edges of the city & the wastelands for hidden passages or possible ways into the sewers. The party is now starting to talk with rat catchers, waddlers, & others who handle the human sewage in the area. But they are also looking for signs of the serpents on them as well.

Shadows of the Serpentmen Part II - Serpents & Zombies - Tomb of the Serpent Kings By Skerples Session one Report

Back on August 16th things were a bit rough for me, so I went on bit of a buying spree. That buying spree ended up with with several different small miniatures orders these included several minor box sets of miniatures including Snake-men Box Set, Crew - Ghost Archipelago (x20 figs). You can read more about these figures on Wargames Illustrated site here.

Tonight the crew of players & DM Steve's PC's  got ran Tomb of the Serpent  Kings - Deluxe Print Edition by Skerples.

Tomb of the Serpent Kings - Deluxe Print Edition by Skerples is a perfect beginning level dungeon & lesson in OSR adventuring that can be used to set up a serpent men legacy right at the beginning of a campaign. Tomb of the Serpent Kings has several twisting & turning tunnels that connects to ACK's Dwimmermount. This version of the megadungeon links up with my Godbound/Cha'alt efforts from back in Feburary.

This campaign links back on itself with few a Adventurer,Conqueror, King rpg  adventures  especially  AX6: Sepulcher of the Sorceress-Queen (SoSQ). But waiting for Drivethrurpg to play catch up in a post covid world just isn't cutting it so I've had to take matters into my own hands especially with DM Steve lurking around my table. The wastelands of this mini campaign echoes with the planar winds slipping away through the serpentmen's other worldly gateways that link to many worlds.

The  'Order of the Lords of Mystery'  has taken to recruiting the PC's into tonight's game. There was no we get together in a tavern tonight's game instead the Emporor's  dungeons were raided by the order for a group of fool ermm adventurers to brave the Tomb of the Serpent Kings. They made it into the tombs but part way on level one ran into trouble with particually nasty intelligent conquistor zombie that commanded other undead. This partiucarly nasty piece of work was inspired by Antediluvan miniatures Mictlan Lich.

The undead horror ( a nasty juju zombie) had command of four other Conquistor zombies that kept the party very busy. Not to worry folks these are all experienced ACK's players.

One wrong turn & they'll end up on   Lamentations of the Flame Princess's Carcosa/Cha'alt. The players are hoping that their PC's end up back on their own world. But things are just getting started & they've already picked up a stray erm former zombie victim. They got to him just in the nick of time for he wasn't victim. But he was babbling something about 'the master' & already the players are mumbling something about  Dave Cook's X5 Temple of Death.

Aryxyrmaraki's Almanac of Unusual Magic was brought up tonigt as the players tried to fall back to several of the side rooms to regroup & regain some ground from some the zombies & thier undead master.

All in all the players are right in the middle of the action in tonight's game. The players have been in my recent  Barbarian Conquerors of Kanahu rpg  mini campaign. We had to end early because of everyone has to work in the morning.

The Shadows of The Serpent Men Campaign & Aryxyrmaraki's Almanac of Unusual Magic On Fund Raise Game On Table Top Commentary

Over a thousand years ago, the Zaharan Sorcerer-Queen Semiramis reigned over a court notorious for its decadent arts and lavish opulence. The hidebound nobles of Zahar were troubled by the ascendance of the kingdom’s first female monarch. Semiramis was beset by over one hundred suitors, each one demanding that she marry him so that the kingdom might have a king. Many of these suitors were powerful spellcasters who wove enchantments upon her, but to no avail: The Sorceress-Queen wore the Ring of the Queen’s Heart, a legendary magic item gifted to her by the goddess Nasga that made her immune to her suitor’s charms.

As beautiful and cruel as her goddess, Semiramis instead seduced her perfidious suitors into swearing eternal love to her – then had them slain. The Sorceress-Queen mummified and interred all one hundred suitors in her own majestic sepulcher, where they would serve her as loyally in death as they ought to have in life."

Its been a rough couple of days & so I went on a bit of buying spree sort of. There are a few Adventurer,Conqueror, King rpg  adventures have on my mind for awhile now especially AX6: Sepulcher of the Sorceress-Queen (SoSQ).   There's been a bit of a serpent men kick at my writing table going back a few weeks.  What sent me down this Robert E.Howard inspired serpent hole was coming across Snake-men Box Set, Crew Ghost Archipelago! Just look at these figures!

A bit of checking & there's already SERPENTINE - Oldskull Serpent Folk By

Kent David Kelly  this book covers serpent men in a nice needed history & back ground that can be dumped whole hog right into a campaign.

Serpent men have been a big part of my campaigns for years going all the way back to the release of  Lamentations of the Flame Princess's Carcosa. . Here's where things got interesting, the serpent men in my campaigns had huge sprawling intergalactic & interdimensional empires. So there were or are outposts that date back millions of years still in operation.

So serpent men popped up in the oddest space dungeons & megadungeons. They also appeared in strange campaign & adventure locations. Such as the serpent men's outpost city on my post apocalyptic Mars campaign.  The serpent men were one of the power factions behind the rise of the Sorcerer's of the Black Gate straight out of the Warriors of the Red Planet rpg.

Dusting off some of my campaign notes on Mars has been interesting. The reason for the dust off is that Autarch is has been publishing another book and in this case Aryxyrmaraki's Almanac of Unusual Magic looks very well done. But what got my attention is the following;"The Almanac is an awesome new sourcebook for ACKS and other OSR games that features 4 new magic types and 60 new spells. Be a gnomish alchemist, dwarven earth-forger, terran engineer, or a warlord!" So I backed Aryxyrmaraki's Almanac of Unusual Magic & the reason is more Barbarian Conquerors of Kanahu rpg material. The terran settlers not only encountered but had some very bad dealings with the serpent men on Kanahu.
When I was running a mini campaign of
Barbarian Conquerors of Kanahu  one of the main NPC antagonists was you guessed it. Serpent men because of their sprawling planar empire. The big complaint that I've heard over the years is that there isn't a beginning 1st level dungeon to get the PC's into the adventure mix. Let me present
Tomb of the Serpent Kings - Deluxe Print Edition by Skerples

Tomb of the Serpent Kings - Deluxe Print Edition by Skerples is a perfect beginning level dungeon & lesson in OSR adventuring that can be used to set up a serpent men legacy right at the beginning of a campaign. This is one of those twenty five page dungeons that gotten multiple uses at my table top over the years. Tomb of the Serpent Kings is going to be my beginning introduction for my players coming for a set up for AX6: Sepulcher of the Sorceress-Queen (SoSQ).   So as you can imagine the Earthlings are going to be out of their depth in the far reaches of space this connects back into Venger Satanis's Cha'alt setting. But I'm putting my own spin on this.

Mutation Solution - Carcosa & Cha'alt World Campaign Setting Building - Dusting Off New Ideas for Great Old Ones

Let me start off by saying that none of the rpg writers or makers have anything whatsoever to do with with this campaign. This was all me because this was one of my all time favorite campaigns. Why?! Because I was in love with all things Jack 'King of Comics' Kirby & pre Disney Marvel movies back in 20o8. Back then it was all about a hybrid BECMI Dungeons & Dragons/Advanced Dungeons & Dragons first edition system that was used to convert everything on the fly. Was I violating trade mark & copy right?! Not for a personal home game I wasn't sure occasionally I'd publish a particularly good Lovecraftian or classic Marvel NPC or monster. But all of this came under the heading of personal parody rpg campaign.

Once upon a time I was quite constantly taking care of every little bit of Carcosa rpg information that crossed my desk back in 2007 to 2012. Lately my tiny brain has been working on possibly resurrecting my Marvel Super Heroes rpg/Carcosa rpg game campaign. Over time tastes change & so do players.

Cover

And if your a reader of this blog then you know of my passion for Cha'alt but that brings us across the fact that how would I go about incorporating this hybrid Lovecraftian planetary setting?!

So let's talk about the fact that you've several distinctly sets of Lovecraftian factions at not only each other's throats but also possibly creating their own unique agents to travel across face of  both Carcosa & Cha'alt. The way I'm envisioning Jeffrey McKinney's Carcosa is that the book is one part of the planet & Cha'alt is the  desert part. But what the Hell is this religious war going on across the face of the planet.

"THERE IS ALWAYS MORE TO SEE. THE UNIVERSE HAS NO END... AND NEITHER DO I."

There are legends about them on every planet, in every galaxy. They are timelss, ageless. They appear when great danger threatens, and then vanish just as quickly. Some revere them as gods, others fear them as demons. They call themselves the Immortals... and they may be the answer to your dreams, or the source of your nightmares."

Right now we're  working on incorporating some of the ideas from Steve Miller's Neulow Games D20 Secrets of the Immortals into the mix for this campaign but at the moment this is in the early phases.

Some of the powerblocks that he's got in here are going to be make some appearances coming up in the next couple of weeks. I've already got several local players lined up for this so watch this space.

The Veneer of Dungeons & Dragons In Old School & OSR Campaigns

Michael Weaver's cover for Dragon magazine #162 screams to Ravenloft second edition setting to me.

So the character workshop went alright folks but I've down with the Autumn sickness that seems to go around here in my neck of Connecticut. Its a very gloomy Sunday which is in keeping with the Halloween season. One of the things I want to talk about is using the veneer of Dungeons & Dragons while using OSR systems. This is an issue I think that's very important for maintaining a consistent campaign feel. It really doesn't get discussed all that much. Dungeons, characters, etc. should feel as if they stepped right out of the original Dungeons & Dragons set of books or Advanced Dungeons & Dragons.

Of course this isn't always the case if your running say other campaign settings with other table top rpg systems. But the best way of using the varnish of original Dungeons & Dragons or Advanced Dungeons & Dragons. Using the Godbound rpg I've come to the startling conclusion that Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Deities & Demigods is a solid resource for this campaign. But there's a lot of conversion work needed to  bring the mythology of the book to life within  the bounds of the setting for play.

The plane Prime is the chess board of the gods why? Because humanity is the resource of the gods & monsters across the multiverse. This is the 'bread & butter' of the prey vs hunter dynamic behind many of the monsters of Dungeons & Dragons. A game of divine heroes the perfect vehicle to bring the characters into the fray.

The incomplete pantheons of both books point up to the fact that there have been battles of cosmic importance in the past this is one of the central axis of both Kuntz & Ward's Gods, Demi-Gods, & Heroes & Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Deities & Demigods. This can & should be used to the dungeon master's advantage when prepping & constructing adventures. We find a solid old school resource in The Dragon issue #57 'Modern Adventuring' by Ed Greenwood.

This brings me to Venger Satanis's Cha'alt & the war of HP Lovecraft  Great Old Ones. The war cycle is simply another part of the ever continuing alien weirdness of the Great Old Ones but what about the vaulted Elder Gods? These are some of the more wholly  alien aspects of conventional gods that were introduced by August Derleth & his ilk. More information right over here.

Cha'alt itself permeating modern culture would be extremely dangerous as the influence of the Old Ones weaves itself into the modern landscape. The whole affair smacks of Clark Ashton Smith's far future Zothique cycle. The Old Ones are still active on Zothique but to far greater extent then say Cha'alt.

The influence of CAS's Zothique just feels like Appendix N's Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Dungeon Master's Guide but the whole cycle feels like a solid old school Dungeons & Dragons campaign to me:
  • Black Abbot of Puthuum, The (1936)
  • Charnel God, The (1934)
  • Dark Eidolon, The (1935)
  • Dead will Cuckold You, The (1950)
  • Death of Ilalotha, The (1937)
  • Empire of the Necromancers, The (1932)
  • Garden of Adompha, The (1938)
  • In the Book of Vergama (1934)
  • Isle of the Torturers, The (1933)
  • Last Hieroglyph, The (1935)
  • Mandor's Enemy (1989)
  • Master of the Crabs, The (1948)
  • Morthylla (1953)
  • Necromancy in Naat (1937)
  • Shapes of Adamant (1935)
  • Tomb-Spawn, The (1934)
  • Voyage of King Euvoran, The (1931) [Illustration "Quest of the Gazolba" By Boris Dolgov]
  • Weaver in the Vault, The (1934)[CAS Illustration]
  • Witchcraft of Ulua, The (1934)
  • Xeethra (1934 [CAS Illustration]
  • <Zothique (1951)

  • Any of these settings really need parties of adventurers, heroes, & nay demi gods are needed to combat the darkness that seems to push the edges of existence. Dungeons & Dragons vineer is both pervasive & very compelling to pull players into the game.

Loose Ends & New Beginnings - Cha'alt & Godbound with Adventurer, Conqeuror,King Rpg Campaign & More

So there's been an email request coming in from a patron of this blog wondering if all reason has been abandoned & my Cha'alt/Godbound campaign ended or vanished into the void of OSR nothingness. It has in point of fact hasn't vanished. But let's pick up with the fact that I've checked with my players who want to resume the rotating  Cha'alt/Godbound campaign game to every other week. Happy days!
Because I was in the process of cannibalizing some of my Adventurer,Conqueror,King rpg campaign material for this game.
But I've been thinking about something that I said back on December 29 & the fact that run my games as 'Epic Gothic Weird Fantasy'.  Why?! Because ACK's makes an excellent backbone fantasy game for this sort of campaign & it works well with Venger Satanis's Cha'alt. I've run Omer Joel, &  Alexander Macris's  Barbarian Conquerors of Kanahu with Cha'alt for several mini side games. These OSR resources work well & play well together.

But my Las Vegas Cha'alt/Godbound campaign has an Anunnaki Grey base out in the middle of Death Valley. These bastards have been abducting human subjects ever since the Cha'alt wave hit the Earth allowing all kinds of horrors & what not to gate into this Prime Earth. The Grey have had unobstructed access to California,Nevada, & Amazon.

The entire campaign came to screeching halt due to the Corvid 19 epidemic. The PC's had been summoned to this Earth by a secret society & things were reverting over to the Cha'alt continuum across the planet. Demon worms showing up, wasteland raiders, mutants, etc.
The PC's have crossed into Cha'alt a few times & I was looking forward to using AX2: Secrets of the Nethercity from ACK's as a stand in for some of the locations of Cha'alt. This was done from the example of the Mixed DM blog's Cha'alt review here.  Many of the locations depicted in Cha'alt fit nicely the cities depicted in the campaign sections of Cha'alt.

AX2's depictions of the degenerate nature of the Elves of ACK's also fits the chaos worshiping a holes of Cha'alt's Elven degenerate variants. This also fits the background of Rpg Pundit's Dark Albion setting & his Lion & Dragon Rpg.

I want to take a step back here & talk about the fact that many of the Grey artifacts, relics, technologies, etc. are in my games considered Chaos tainted. Here's where I fall back to my Lion & DragonDark Albion, & especially Cults of Chaos notes.  PC's fooling around with these items is a really good way of earning a chaos mutation or two. Now the reason for this is despite Pundit's review of Cha'alt there are some really good rules for using chaos or dangerous occult items or artifacts in your games. I turn to Gary Gygax's S3 Expediation to The Barrier Peaks module. I'm going to use the mind flayer that's one of the encounters within S3 as the basis for an 'unexpected guest'.

Psionically its been putting 'out the call' to a group of 1d20 Cha'alt scavengers who have been operating in the area. They are on their way into 'attack' the downed Grey craft to free the prisoner  specimen who was taken on a recent Grey expedition to a Flayer colony ship
.The Greys will pay handsomely for it or mind blast anyone has the Flayer pod if they can get away with it.

Blast em with Hellfire! Settling into an OSR Hell - Cha'alt & My Version of the OSR Hells!

There are so many lovely little Frog God Games Swords & Wizardry Monsters that
I'd love to use in my games. I decided to get my infernal campaign  notes out for some business in my version of Hells. This goes back to my 3.5 Dungeons & Dragons D20 days so a little OSR patience.

Recently we reviewed Troll Lord Games Castles & Crusades Tome of the Unclean  & that review generated a ton of controversy. That's good because it means that folks are reading the blog & thinking about OSR gaming. Let's kick the infernal into hi gear or at least my version of Hell.

Someone made a comment on Me We in one of the OSR groups I'm in about the free D20 Infernum book rpg system book -  'Infernum - Book of the Damned'

    "You are in Hell.
For an eternity, there has been nothing in the Infernum except constant war and constant suffering. Those in power grind those beneath them into the burning dust, while those below plot and conspire to overthrow their masters and take their place and all bow before the might of the warring Houses. Now, there is dissent and opposition even against their might, as the Free Cities declare their independence and threaten the hegemony of the Houses.
War is coming to Hell. Anyone, even a mortal, could conquer the Pit and become a lord of the Infernum.
Infernum: Book of the Damned is the Player’s book for the Infernum Roleplaying Game. In it you will find everything you need to start your adventures in Hell and begin working your way up the demonic ladder towards total domination.
Play as Mortal, Demon or Fallen Angel. Equip yourself with the latest infernal weaponry such as the flayer or hellcannon and trap a demon within your chosen tool of warfare. Develop and nurture your mutations as they twist your flesh and increase your demonic power. Feed from damned souls and bind other demons in unbreakable Covenants. Do unto others before they do unto you and remember...
Conquer or suffer. These are the only choices in the Infernum."

Now here's the thing for three years when D20 Infernum book rpg system book  came out I ran the system as an addition to 3.5 Dungeons & Dragons. Shocking I know because the first book was followed up with the setting book Infernum: Book of the Tormentor. The final book in the series was Infernum: Book of the Conqueror  which gives the upper PC levels & to rule in Hell & more.
Now I had a far bit of experience with the Infernum Hell because I also own Mongoose's D20 Book of Hell. Here's the thing this book came out before  D20 Infernum book rpg system book & there are several monsters, classes, equipment, etc. That are  not in the D20 Infernum the Book of the Damned.  There's a very nice quick conversion for 3.5 D&D or  Pathfinder over to Swords & Wizardry on the Pickled Punks OSR blog here.

Now given the circumstances that several of Frog God Games Swords & Wizardry products are on sale I thought I'd go into these Hellish circles.  Now I had to do a lot of house ruling when it came to running D20 Infernum book rpg system books. So much so that I whole cloth modified very nature of the setting Hell itself. The Seven Circles of Dante's Hell became the main stage of Hell with the Abyss & its demons being the back stage. The view point was reinforced with Green Ronin''s Book of Fiends another 3.5 Dungeons & Dragons  book which I own.  The thing is you as the dungeon master have to realize the amount of scaling that you have to do with the monsters for OSR games. But for converting 3.5 Dungeons & Dragons monsters over to Castles & Crusades? I've got that covered with this forum post over at Troll Lords.

Now with my Cha'alt/Godbound campaign on hiatus for a bit I've taken some time to evaluate some of my old Hell campaign notes. You've got to understand that this was a balls to the walls Rifts/Gamma World style VHS grind house game. Towns being swallowed up by Hell, humans being mutated into demonic horrors then sent to ravage their own towns, etc. This was a campaign in need of  heroes & it got them! These were some very flawed heroes indeed but they were summoned to Earth to do a job!

Now I've been thinking about using the Siege engine/Castles & Crusades to do a full balls to the walls Rifts Cha'alt game for weeks now. But what about the forces of Hell are they simply going to be on the side lines?! I've got a team of demonic mutant horrors just waiting to be unleashed on my table top as soon as this quarantine breaks!

Note that I really don't give two craps about the poisoned  politics of any the designers & writers of these games. I've put my time into this campaign & on the whole I've got to say that this part of the community aspect of the hobby sucks. Keep your politics off of my table folks.

The Genocide of Commoriom - More Cha'alt/Godbound Campaign Notes - The Thirteen Realms & S1-4 Realms of Horror by Gary Gygax, & Lawrence Schick.

    In
Commoriom  the capital city of the Hyperboreans beyond the snowy Riphean Mountains there is a midnight slaughter! An army of Drow from the lowest depths of the Earth slaughters every Hyperborean within sight! The heads of warriors, every man, woman, & child is arrayed on pikes! The Drow will have their reckoning!

The timeline events of my Cha'alt/Godbound
campaign have moved forward a bit as several phone calls & virtual meetings that took place today. So today I decided to take the ancient feud of the Drow with Hyperboreans & bring it to its natural conclusion in the campaign historical time table.

If your still looking to grab the hardback contact Venger Satanis right here.

I'm going to be  running S1-4 Realms of Horror by  Gary Gygax, &  Lawrence Schick S1-4 Realms of Horror  is a super module collection that came out way back in Eight Seven. S1-4 Realms of Horror collects & connects  Tomb of Horrors, White Plume Mountain, Expedition to the Barrier Peaks, and The Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth as one gigantic campaign. For this I'm going to be using a combination of Adventurer, Conqueror, King & Castles & Crusades

I'm going to be using this with 'Thirteen Realms' set against the events of Cha'alt in my home campaign game. Things have been moving apace but with the recent acquisition of 'The Tsathoggua Cycle: Terror Tales of the Toad God (Call of Cthulhu Fiction)'. So I thought it was time to move things up a bit.

The influence of the black pyramid continues to be felt across the world as things heat up in Greenland. The Drow have taken over in Greenland & California falls under the influence of Cha'alt's in human masters. Hyperborea itself has disappeared from the skies completely but that was to be expected. So now the Drow have taken over Greenland & only  Olathoe, in the Land of Lomar remains as a pocket of resistance for now.

Cha'alt/Godbound Campaign Notes - The Thirteen Realms & S1-4 Realms of Horror by Gary Gygax, & Lawrence Schick.

So over the last two days I've been refining campaign notes, writing up NPC's, & going over the timeline events of my Cha'alt/Godbound campaign. Fleshing out bits & pieces of the world plus cannibalizing several years of other OSR campaign notes. Several monster species are being pulled out of the AD&D  Monster Manual, the Creature Catalog, etc.

The PC's were god bound heroes summoned to this Earth & things have been getting steadily nastier as time goes on. The war rages on but the Lovcraftian gods of Cha'alt are starting to stir & grow restless. The lamia queens of Cha'alt have begun to move across the desert landscape with their caravans bringing with them the corruption & horror of their influence.

If your still looking to grab the hardback contact Venger Satanis right here.

The Cha'alt wave rages across the world & the thirteen realms are starting to replace their normal dimensional Earth counter parts. The thirteen  realms are starting to move into their place shifting Earth normality away. These thirteen  realms are as follows :

    1. Europe - Wasteland ruins ruled over by barbarian warlords and the occasional Nazi wizard. Some pockets of weird technology created by said wizards. OD&D monsters and mutants roam through through this landscape.
    2. Greenland and Iceland  - Realm of Dark Elven warriors/wizards among the volcanoes and green rolling hills. Drawn from Scandinavian mythology and cheesy fantasy movies. Greenland is the seat of the Hyperborean empire on Earth.
    3. The UK - Gothic Sunset a world of Gothic horror & violence. Monsters of classic horror stalk the landscape.
    4. USSR - The Shattered  Realms - Barbarian warlords, wizards, green skin humanoid tribes all drawn from Grind House Fantasy 80's movies.
    5. Canada - "The Inner Earth Invades" Realm - Paleo terror tears through the ruins of Canadian cities while Sasquatch mutants roam the wilderness. Some pockets of high inner Earth tech!
    6. United States -  A. East Coast - This Is Lovecraft country  - This is the pulp realm of New England. B. The West Coast -  A "Road Nomads style world" think 80's television like Airwolf, The Highway man, etc. with lots of Post Apocalyptic goodness! Here Cha'alt's desert nature has taken dire hold.
    7. Mexico and South America - Lovecraftian Technological Nightmare realms - Forbidden gods, weird cults, and mythological nightmares
    8. China and India - Zombie Realms - Filled with Dark Magic, forbidden rites, and ancient wizards! This realm of zombie horror is one of the most dangerous.
    9. Australia - Dinoverse - A world where the dinosaurs evolved into humanoid forms. 80's and 90's technology with humanoid dinosaurs and awesomeness
    10. Japan and Indonesia - The Ancient Space Gods Return Realm - Where the ancient gods of space and time have returned to terrorize mankind! The rule of the saucer has begun
    11. Africa- The Realms of Interzone - The Realms of Naked Lunch and Pulp Africa
    12. Antarctica  - The "At The Mountains of Madness" Realms - Lovecraftian masters return to claim what is rightfully theirs.
    13. Glanauaethan - The Fallen Utopia - A realm of shattered high technology and decadence, this reality of survivors, mutant tribes, androids, and former space travelers  are strangers in a strange land. Drawn from countless PD science fictional movies . This group of rag tag survivors has come from an alternative Earth where a cosmic plague has ravaged most of humanity. This group of time traveling refugees uses its know of a possible future to recruit adventurers from across the realms to advance its own mysterious and some would say twisted agenda.
So basically the realms are going to connect up with various night roads that lead into some of these realms. Amid  this dimensional shifting I was thinking of running S1-4 Realms of Horror by  Gary Gygax, &  Lawrence Schick S1-4 Realms of Horror  is a super module collection that came out way back in Eight Seven. S1-4 Realms of Horror collects & connects  Tomb of Horrors, White Plume Mountain, Expedition to the Barrier Peaks, and The Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth as one gigantic campaign

We are talking literal years of game play here to even get this loose campaign off the ground. Cha'alt keeps on using its influence on my brain as a sort of weird quisi Gamma World/Rifts rpg influence.
