The Hand Job From The Tower & Wretched Verses Issue 1: Avalidad City Guide - Cha'alt One Shot Report

We had a long slog of an OSR game yesterday and last night there wasn't any blog entry coming because of the fact that we didn't end until 2:00 A.M. this morning. The player's PC's  were transported to the tower of a vile sorcerer on some distant star. And then it was an up hill slog to kill the horror within the tower. We lost three party members & finally we were able to defeat the Lovecraftian horror. This one of the worlds that surround's Cha'alt.

The horror that the player's PC's fought was 'inspired' by Mr.Zarono's artwork available here

The warrior Azocon Stonecutter's hand had become infected by the horror & off came the hand. The player's PC's quickly hacked off the hand. And threw it into a glass steele box before it could cause more mayhem.Stonecutter easily survived. But now what do with it?! And one of the players had the brilliant idea of selling this hand thing in Avalidad. Now one of the players whom we will call Steve doesn't have the new issue of Wretched Verses issue # 1. Which is perfect because the Red Room sent it too me early yesterday morning. And almost immediately of arriving upon Avalidad did the PC's run into trouble. Wretched Verses Issue 1 contains brand new encounter tables and a complete city guide. My suggestion is to grab a copy of
the new issue of Wretched Verses issue # 1.

Why is this important?! Because besides getting a brand new cybernetic hand for Azocon Stonecutter.  It means that the PC's are now in the sights of Zonetec after running afoul of the organization & insulting an officier of the para supernatural law enforcement agency. They came short of attacking him but he knows the party has contraband.
And did I happen to mention the fact that they've got a deactivated pleasure android that happened to have worked at Alpha Blue eons ago. So now thier on a race to ditch the hand and the android!

Let's All Go To The Faire - Wretched Darkness & Cha'alt Crossover Session Report Two

The T.E.F. party has been sheltering with a  group of desert raiders on Cha'alt & has been dealing with a rival band of desert raides after a raid by a band of renagade cultists of demon worm worshipers. And it's within this morning's game that I want to address Venger's latest video available here. Recently we began to incorporate Wretched Apocalpyse rpg today.

Why becauase Chartreuse Shadows is a post apocalyptic Grim Dark fantasy campaign setting. And the party is actually a part from Agents of W.R.E.T.C.H. & then modified with some Cha'alt secrets.
Cha'alt actually has a lot in common with Dark Sun.Except for the fact that planar doors on our version of Cha'alt swing free.
Our version of the Cha'alt campaign has Wretched Country rpg  has visitors from the Old West on planet. We're using the Wretchedverse psionics and the supernatural rules with the NPC party having used the Beyond time space gates to get to Cha'alt.

T.E.F. has been supporting it's tribal elders with 60's weapons & advanced technological advisors. The PC's want to make deep contact with the Wretched Country rpg NPC's.
What the PC's don't know is that the fact one group of rival NPC's are actually a Western off shoot of the Seven Bastards outlaw gang.
Tthe Cremza’amirikza’am megadungeon is where the Seven Bastards have deep connections. And they also have a gate there back into 1868 from the Wretched Époque's Paris. The PC's don't know the connection.. yet. They saved a man from starvation & dehydration. What they don't know is the fact that that man is Marcus Saint Sabastian a were wolf of dangerous aspect.

Things Get Complicated - Sub Umbra Review & Wretched Darkness & Cha'alt Crossover Commentary

So Sub Umbra came my way from the Red Room & it's a very well done adventure scenario from the Red Room. Sub Umbra is availabe on Geek Emporium right over here. But how does Sub Umbra apply to our current game right over here?!  Quite a bit actually as the grinding occult conspiracies of the module overlap some of the already established themes of our campaign. The T.E.F. of  Agents of  W.R.E.T.C.H fame are already in the mix.

Cha'alt itself is one of the most heinous places that adventurers can find themselves. We've lost seven adventurer & agents within this campaign. The grinding conspiracies of Sub Umbra all about unlocking occult doors. And several of the occult factions that are in Wretched Darkness are already aware of this. The conspiracies & spiraling adventure elements of Sub Umbra add more layers to the world that we've already established. The Beyond reaches out to the adventurers and calls to them.

Most folks take Cha'alt to be silly & trite. It's not actualy if you read between the lines. And Sub Umbra is deadly serious taking on an occult conspiracy within Eighties & Nineties Portugal.
Is it well done?! You bet and it can easily slide into an existing Wretched Darkness campaign as another layer of the world peeling back like an onion. The supernatural is revealed beneath. Sub Umbra does an excellent job of detailing another aspect of a world spiralng out of control.

Sub Umbra makes an excellent starting point for a Wretchedverse campaign. The conspiracies & the lethality of the campaign book make for an excellent introduction to the world of Wretched Darkness.
