2d6 Bio Booster Armor Guyver For The Hostile Rpg & Orbital 2100 Rpg Part II

To blend Orbital 2100, Hostile, and Guyver, we need to marry hard-science realism with wetwork biological horror. In this setting, the "Creators" were an ancient alien race that used Earth as a biological laboratory eons ago. The Chronos Corporation—a massive conglomerate in the Hostile universe—has discovered Martian ruins containing the "Legacy DNA" and three "Unit-G" artifacts.

This post picks right up from here with part I on the blog

Now, the Cold War between Earth and Luna (Orbital 2100) is being subverted from within by Chronos’s "Zoanoid" sleeper agents.

1. The Setting: The Chronos Conspiracy

In the year 2105, the solar system is a powder keg. While Earth and Luna point nuclear-thermal missiles at each other, Chronos has moved beyond steel and silicon.

  • The Artifacts: Found in the Cydonia region of Mars, the Guyver Units are "standard-issue exploration suits" for the ancient Creators. To a TL9 human, they are god-like.

  • The Zoanoids: Chronos doesn't just hire security; they grow it. Using "Optimization Clinics" on orbital stations, they mutate loyal employees into bio-monsters capable of surviving vacuum and crushing powered exoskeletons.

2. The Bio-Boosted Armor (Guyver Unit)

In Hostile/Cepheus terms, the Guyver is an Artifact (TL 16+). It is a symbiotic organism that "boosts" the host's existing capabilities.

Base Stats & Mechanics

  • Armor Value: 18 (Reduces all incoming damage).

  • Attribute Boosts: While "Bio-Boosted," the host gains +6 Strength, +4 Dexterity, and +2 Endurance.

  • Regeneration: Heals 1D6 damage per round. If the host "dies," the Control Metal can regrow them over 24 hours (unless the Metal itself is destroyed).

  • Senses: The "Orbs" provide 360-degree vision and Thermal/Radar senses, granting a +4 DM to Recon and Initiative.

Integrated Weaponry

WeaponRangeDamageSpecial
High-Freq BladesMelee5D6Ignores Armor (vibrational)
Sonic Buster10m3D6Area Effect (Cone), ignores non-sealed armor
Head Laser50m3D6Precise, ignores 5 points of armor
Pressure Cannon100m6D6Gravity-based; creates "knockback"
Mega-Smasher500m2D10 x 5Requires 2 rounds to "charge." Hits as Vehicle Scale.

3. The Adversaries: Zoanoids

Chronos’s rank-and-file. These stats represent the "Gregole" (Strength-type) and "Vamore" (Laser-type) modified humans.

Standard Zoanoid (Gregole Type)

A massive, 3-meter tall reptilian humanoid built for boarding actions on cramped stations.

  • STR 15 (+3), DEX 9 (+1), END 14 (+2)

  • Armor: 10 (Thick Hide)

  • Attacks: Claws (3D6), Bite (2D6)

  • Traits: Vacuum Survival (10 mins), Intimidating.

Hyper-Zoanoid (Team 5 Style)

Elite bio-weapons designed to hunt Guyvers.

  • STR 18 (+4), DEX 12 (+2), END 16 (+3)

  • Armor: 14 (Chitinous Plates)

  • Attacks: Bio-Lasers (4D6), Vibration Claws (4D6, ignores armor).

  • Special: Enzyme-Acid. If they hit a Guyver, the acid reduces the Guyver’s Armor Value by 2 per round until washed off.

4. Campaign Hooks

A. The Ceres Discovery

The PCs are asteroid miners for a small independent firm (Hostile style). They find a metallic "puck" (a Guyver Unit) in a deep-space salvage. Before they can sell it, a Chronos "Clean-up Team" of Zoanoids boards their ship. One PC accidentally triggers the Unit. Now they are the most wanted fugitives in the Belt.

B. The Luna Infiltration

Chronos has replaced the High Command of the Lunar Republic with Zoanoids. The Earth-Luna Cold War (Orbital 2100) is being intentionally escalated to trigger a "Great Pruning" of the human race. The PCs are intelligence agents who have found evidence of the "biological subversion."

C. The Horror on Mars

A scientific expedition to the Cydonia ruins goes dark. The PCs are "Troubleshooters" sent to investigate. They find a "hive" of feral, failed Zoanoid experiments and the dormant "Ship" of the Creators, which is beginning to wake up and broadcast a signal into deep space.

System Note: Balancing the Guyver

The Guyver is overpowered for a standard Hostile game. To keep the tension:

  1. The Energy Drain: Using the Mega-Smasher or taking massive damage forces an END check (10+). Failure means the armor "retracts" to the host's body to recharge, leaving them naked and exhausted in a hostile environment.

  2. Corporate Reach: Chronos has "Control Frequencies." They can track the Unit's gravity signature anywhere in the solar system. You can't hide; you can only fight.
