Flash Gordon Using Crypts & Things & Carcosa One Shot - Tonight

So I've got a game over at my friend Larry's this evening. The adventure has to be quick, fast, & interesting. I'm thinking a Flash Gordon 1980s adventure using a Carcosa & Crypts & Things mash up
The setting with its weird gods, space aliens, & arcane science could easily fit the Crypts & Things system.

Given the various races of Mongo adding a Lovecraft element to each race isn't that hard at all. Each race could have its own Lovecraftian Old One & the various Lovecraft races living in Ming's shadow. Ming of course being their high priest.

Carcosa's technological items & treasures, the weird hybrid men, mutations all fit Flash's Mongo exceptionally well.

I got the distinct impression that Flash & company weren't the first Earthlings that had visited Mongo. This of course would be set pre Flash Warlord.

I've got  six players for tonight. A party that includes a barbarian, 2 thieves, a grey magician cum psychic, fighter, & a veteran fighter.
The characters are to break into a Mongo mega dungeon & steal some of the advanced gear stored in the Inner Mongo underworld that exists

Of course knowing  the way I love to mix things up a bit I'm going to throw a bit of  Flash Gordon The Greatest Adventure Of Them All.

These wonderful mutated Mongoian Dinosaurs will be making an appearance tonight . 4 Hit points each
These fantastic Ming Automatons with their 3 hit points & ray guns that do 1d3 points of damage each 6 shots & range of  200 yards
The rocket ships of the Ming Automations. Equiped with a full ion drive system. This is a perfect Mongo trans atmospheric vehicle. Holds 16 robots at a clip.
These beast men created by Ming & with a mere 3 hit points & a bit of infravision they should be easily dealt with by  solid group of PCs

Who knows what other dangers lurk on the dangerous surface of Mongo!

There will be an up date later this evening! So stay tuned!

  2. My Thursday night group is looking for a 3rd or 4th player actually.. Its very hard to find players in this area. The group that I'm currently playing with is going back to straight OD&D or Pathfinder soon. I'm making ready a Stars Without Number game background & being written with a friend's help at the moment. We're going to start generating characters Thursday. If your in the area send an email to sew man twenty three at g mail dot com. The whole thing rammed together with the number etc all smaller case.
Anyhow thanks for the comment & I've got to get back to gaming!

    1. I always enjoy reading your blog and mine it for space adventuring inspiration. Unfortunately,to my disappointment, it seems I would not be able to join you since I hail from PA. It sounds like you'll be having one heck of a good time without me though.
