OSR Commentary On Marvel Super Heroes rpg MH AC2 Avengers Assembled By Bruce Nesmith

" The greatest collection of heroes, ever, annouced by their famous battle cry: Avengers Assemble! Includes a 32-page sourcebook with complete information on 30 past and present Avengers, 22 of their enemies, the Avengers mansion, and SHIELD! "
 The year is 1984, and we're deep into Marvel Super Heroes here comes Marvel Super Heroes Avengers Assembled by Bruce Nesmith. This blog entry is going to pick up right from here on the blog.  This supplement was a bit of a game changer for our group of players. Why? Because of the fact that all of the original Avengers and thier foes plus equipment, SHIELD, & more were laid bare.

According to the Marvel Super Heroes rpg Avengers Assembled wiki entry; " Avengers Assembled! is a supplement presenting game statistics for 30 characters that have been members of the Avengers team, as well as 22 of their enemies, the Avengers Mansion, and the organization S.H.I.E.L.D.[1] Avengers Assembled is a 32-page book, with a removal cover that has a detailed map printed on it of the Avengers' mansion.[2] The supplement explores the mansion, S.H.I.E.L.D., and Nick Fury, 30 team members (two of these characters have additional secret identities, meaning there are actually 26 separate characters), and two Avengers associates.[2] Each character has an illustration, as are some S.H.I.E.L.D. equipment and personnel"
 Marvel Super Heroes rpg MH AC2  Avengers Assembled By Bruce Nesmith really has all of the makings of a first class campaign for the Marvel Super Heroes rpg. This supplement really sets the tone for the basic MSH rpg in spades. This is a sentiment echoed by Imagine magazine reviewer Pete Tamlyn; ""Avengers Assembled! will be an essential product for most players of the game".[3] He stated: "Personal preferences aside, the Avengers are probably the ideal group to choose if you are going to run an extended campaign using MSH. There have been so many members and roster changes that your players are almost certain to be able to pick a character each without conflict over who plays which particular favourite, or someone getting lumbered with a character that doesn't suit their style of play."[3] He continued: "There are a few grossly powerful characters among them, and I'd recommend that Thor in particular be kept as an NPC who can rescue the players in times of dire emergency, but the only real wimps, Wasp and Hawkeye, are among the most interesting characters to play. My only complaint is that many of the villains are also very tough, the sort of folks who take on the Avengers single-handed and are normally only defeated thanks to their arrogance and over-confidence, and will therefore be quite difficult for the GM to handle."[3] Tamlyn concluded by saying: "Overall, a much-needed publication which will sell very well."
Sell well it did and laided the foundation for many of the Marvel Super Heroes rpg supplements that would follow.

What MH AC2 does so well is lay out the Avengers, SHIELD, etc into a usable format for both new players & DM's respectively. Sure Avengers Coast to Coast has it over MH AC2 in spades but Avengers Assembled came out first and laided out the blue print for the classic FASRIP rpg that we've all come to know and love.
So is Avenger Assembled still useful today?! In a wood of course, this is a classic supplement & it's easy to use with all of the 1960's and 70's Avengers and thier villians!

OSR Commentary On Marvel Super Heroes Rpg Project Wideawake By Jeff Grubb

 "They are the children of the atom, the next step in human evolution. They are mutants, hated and feared by mere humans. Some, like the X-Men and the New Mutants, are protectors of humanity. Others, such as the Hellfire Club and the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, want to be the masters of humanity."

"Now, the major marvcom mutants, well-meaning and malign, are collected in one book. More than 50 heroes, villains, and interested parties... are described inside, along with notes on the X-Men's mansion, important non-mutants, and the fearsome Sentinels -- mutant-hunting robots created by the United States government to deal with the mutant menace."

So the year is 1987 & we're in the middle of our Marvel Super Heroes rpg campaign & this add appeared in several Marvel comicbooks. Because mutants were such a big deal in certain circles of comic book readers.  A year earlier Jeff Grubb had written Marvel Super Heroes Rpg Project Wideawake &  it was the start of the Fall of the Mutants adventure line for our group. According to the Project Wideawake wiki entry;"
MHAC5 Project: Wideawake was written by Jeff Grubb, with a cover by Kerry Gammill, and was published by TSR, Inc., in 1985 as a 32-page book"

For us this was the supplement that launched our group of heroes into the Days of Future Past comicbook world when we stumbled through an alternative Earth gateway created by a mutant kid with reality warping powers called Second Guess. This mutant kid not even ten years old could create doorways into alternative universes.Given my uncle proclivity for using the Marvel comics as reference & we soon found ourselves saving Second Guess from a group of Friends of Humanity supporters.
And then we found ourselves on an Earth so very much unlike our own. And it was not an easy slog back to save Second Guess from the Sentinels. Most if not all of the stats for the mutants that we met along the way came from Project Wideawake.
For me Project Wideawake is a great little supplement and Jeff Grubb's writing and design is tight. Not everyone feels this way however;
"Pete Tamlyn reviewed the supplement in Imagine magazine.[2] He comments, "OK, X-Fans, this is the one you've been waiting for [...] if you have any interest at all in the X-Men and related groups then this product is essential."[2] He found that the floor plans "are not really clear enough for any serious use without considerable work on the GM's part."[2] Tamlyn added: "The coverage of Marvel mutant-kind is reasonably comprehensive. Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch have been left out as they were in the Avengers booklet; Beast was as well, of course, but they could hardly miss one of the original X-Men. Phoenix is in and, as might have been expected, is tough enough to take on everyone else in the booklet put together and win easily—the booklet sensibly recommends that she only enter games as an NPC. There are, however, some surprising omissions, including the Starjammers, Shi'Ar Imperial Guard and Alpha Flight. There are not many mutants in that lot, but they're all part of the X-Men circle. Another book, perhaps?"[2] He continued, "I have got a few gripes as well. One or two boobs seem to have slipped past the proofreaders; for example we are told that Magma regains health points each round as long as she is in contact with the ground, but we are not told how many points per round. However, if you want to run MSH as it is designed to be run, some things are essential, and this is one of them."[2] Tamlyn concludes the review by saying, "Final point: the booklet introduces a new rule to MSH. Supervillains now have negative popularity which is a measure of how easy they find it to cow hapless civilians. A nice idea.""
Do I personally agree with Mr. Tamlyn's review?! No,because it seems unduly harsh and Dragon magazine would later have it's Ares section cover Alpha Flight and the Shi'Ar Imperial Guard. What Project Wideawake does is introduce the Xmen and thier enemies into the Marvel Superheroes rpg and it could easily be used with the Marvel Super Heroes Advanced rpg.
Project Wideawake was a product of it's time and as such easily introduced the Xmen. I was later on replaced by the superior Children of the Atom supplement but for it's time Project Wideawake did it's job easily and with bells on.

Everything In World War Two & Your Mother - The Free Marvel Super Heroes rpg Netbook Adventure 'In The Shadows of Evil'- The Demon of White Chapel Part II - None of That Nun

 We ended up at Ravencroft Ayslum to speak with Jack the Ripper or the inmate who claimed to be the murderer. And then we picked right back up from the last session! The heroes in tonight's game came face to face with the Red Skull's Sisters of Sin right in the Middle of Ravenscore Ayslum! And it was battle royal with the demon Pazuzu right in the middle egging on the proceedings!

The Sisters of Sin didn't manage to kill any of our heroes but they did manage to injure at least three civilians and proceeded to make life very hard for the party!
We mnaged to cut a deal with the demon but this was after mopping the floor with the Red Skull's nuns! We did manage to avoid burning down the Ayslum and secured the statue of Pazazu! This was after making a deal with the demon who continued it's tirade of absuse.

The brawl spilled into the streets of London & the Sisters of Sin decided to murder the party to get what they wanted. And in the meantime we had Pazuzu whispering in our colllective ears the whole time! Bargaining, tempting, & conjoiling the PC's in thier heads.  Dr. Jones tripped up & then brought some rubble down on the sisters ending thier threat for the moment.

Everything In World War Two & Your Mother - The Free Marvel Super Heroes rpg Netbook Adventure 'In The Shadows of Evil'- The Demon of White Chapel Part I

 There are times where you really don't want to mess around with the forces of evil! And in tonight's Marvel Super Heroes Rpg adventure that's exactly what happened! Tonight's adventure had the player's PC's picking right up from last week's  game session  right after the PC's recovered the Jewel of Ozymandias. This came at great personal expense as two PC's ended up in hospital. The PC's did manage to complete the first leg of thier mission but now it was back to White Chapel district of London.

The party was off to the White Chapel section after a gristly series of murders & they stumble across the occult bookshop Panpipes &  the proprietor of Panpipes, Edward Wingate. Mr. Wingate specializes in Jack the Ripper brick- a - brack. But the book store is really devoted to the occult in all it's sorted aspects. He knew all of the legends of the occult items of power that the PC's seek & he also knew of a recent inmate who claims to be Jack the Ripper himself. Mr Wingate set up the inmate's backstory himself; "“There’s a fella now, though, that came out of nowhere claiming to be old man Jack. There have been confessions all over the place for decades, but none have held up. But this fella, if the stories are to be believed, knows things that even the most astute followers of the murders wouldn’t know. There are still secrets that only a select few know, and this crazy bastard knows them all."
Of course the heroes wanted to meet this inmate!
“They have him holed up right now in the Catholic home for the Insane, St. Michael’s Asylum down on Montague Street.”Of course the party wants to interview 'Saucy Jack ' and they have no idea it's actually the demon Pazuzu! We ended here as they took a long time speaking with  Mr Wingate about Jack The Ripper & the items of occult power they were seeking.

Everything In World War Two & Your Mother - The Free Marvel Super Heroes rpg Netbook Adventure 'In The Shadows of Evil'- Middle East Madness Session Report 2

 So if you've been following our World War II campaign 'In The Shadows of Evil' which is a free netbook adventure. We really dug in as we took a hook flight to Egypt aboard a very nosey passenger plane that had been hauling troops only a few hours earlier. The flight smelled of cigs, desperation, and uncertainty of very young soldiers. We accompanied by Dr. Henry Jones & events were moving fast. We just met with the Invaders a day ago. And tangled with Baron Blood only a few days before that!

'In The Shadows of Evil' Compiled, Written and Designed by Christopher P. Tyne moves at a very quick pace with it's encounters and we needed to slow things down a bit. We needed to get our bearings and then meet with the General Happy Sam Sawyer. We knew Sawyer by reputation as our outfit had close ties with Army Intelligence.
We got settled on base and went into our civilian outfits. We had a story cover for our being in Egypt. And then we bumped into Lois Lane of the Daily Bugle. And she was the last person that we wanted to see. The endless questions plus the drama with her boy scout was what we wanted to avoid. Besides we  knew that Superman was in Japan on a sabotage mission.
We ditched Lois Lane with a couple of rolls and ducked down several alleys and then made our way too the establishment where we were meeting the General.
The Thieves quarter certainly lived up to it's name and our meeting with our contacts. We got the location  of the Shrine El Shaur just outside of Cairo and after a bit of an encounter with thieves. Our transport arrangements were by camel and the trip was pretty easy.
This had us on edge and the shrine looked like a paradise on Earth compared to the desert. The shrine had been cataloged but not opened. This screamed traps and whatnot to us as we sought  the Jewel of Ozymandias. Dr.Jones disarmed traps and we did a bit of dungeon crawling. Then it was confrontation time with the four horsemen of the Apocalypse and the guardian Ozymandias. The fight was not going well so we parleyed with the guardian. Speaking with a living stone monument was interesting.

We were eventually given the jewel after a very lengthy discussion with the guardian.  The guardian explained that the jewel was merely a tool but we should fear what was coming afterward. Now it was time to move on to England for the next item of power.
The guardian's last words were a bit chilling, 'Can one come so close to darkness and power while not being changed'.

Review & Commentary On The Unofficial Canon Project Marvel Super Heroes Marverlous Myths & Monsters Volume 6 - Otherworld

 "Welcome to Otherworld!!! The UCP is excited to present another book in the Marvelous Myths and Monsters series of books, this one covering Otherworld, Celtic mythology, Avalon, the Captain Britain Corps, all the Black Knights, and more... all by the prolific Andrew Goldstein!"

Oh, and did we mention this is the biggest book we've done yet!? This tome weighs in at a hefty 677 pages in total of Marvel RPG goodness!"

The Unofficial Canon Project Marvel Super Heroes Marverlous Myths & Monsters Volume 6 - Otherworld just came out by Andrew Goldstein. The Unofficial Canon Project is on Facebook 7 they do some incredible supplements for the Marvel Super Heroes rpg produced by TSR. We're going to reference the Unofficial Canon Project Marvel Super Heroes Marverlous Myths & Monsters Volume 6 - Otherworld as Otherworld for the remainder of this review. The Otherworld supplement is centered on Marvel Comics take on the Celtic mythology that was depicted in Mavel comicbooks. These depictions go all the way back to before the Bronze Age & these are referenced, cataloged, and depicted within the Otherworld supplement. Within this supplement we get the gods,hero,fairies,monsters, monster races, etc. and more within the Otherworld supplement. This is a massive six hundred and seventy seven pages worth of Marvel Celtic mythology has an actual break down of the material with an actual table of contents: Chapter 1 – Otherworld......................................................6
 Chapter 2 – Avalon ........................................................... 29
Chapter 3 – Fairyland & the Fairy Courts........................ 342
 Chapter 4 – Celtic Mythology ......................................... 411
Chapter 5 – Other Great Britain and Celtic Mythology .. 587
Chapter 6 – Parallel Worlds............................................ 641
Chapter 7 – Afterward & References.............................. 672

Otherworld covers Camelot and the Arthurian mythos in the Marvel universe. And this is especially the Arthurian mythos and how they relate to th Black Knight. These center around persons, fairy, places, monsters, foes, and friends. All of these subjects weaves in and out of Otherworld, Avalon,Marvel's Camelot, and the Fairy Courts. And all of these dance around the chapters on Celtic Mythology with the heroes, gods, monsters and more. These chapters focus on the Marvel mythological perspective. Layout, fonts, etc. all harken back to the heady days of TSR's Marvel Super Heroes rpg. And Captain Britain get's his due within the Otherworld supplement because his & the Black Knight are some of the key pillars of this Marvel supplement along with the Xmen.
But is it worth the download from  The Unofficial Canon Project Marvel Super Heroes Facebook group's free G drive folder under Marvelous Myths & Monsters?! In a word, yes. Because this supplement goes into Celtic mythological, Arthurian, Black Knight, Irish, and more material with gusto. Want to know whose who within the Formarian patheon in the Marvel universe? Do you need the magic items of the days of Marvel's Camelot?! The The Unofficial Canon Project Marvel Super Heroes Marverlous Myths & Monsters Volume 6 - Otherworld has you covered. Want to know about Robin Hood and his Merry Men in the the Marvel universe?! This book has you covered!
Otherworld is a well written, very well conceived, and solid Marvel Super Heroes Rpg resource and campaign setting book. Otherworld is extremely useful for any Celtic themed DM & Marvel Super Heroes rpg player. I think that this is a five outta of five book.

OSR Review & Commentary On CAMELOT: Fantasy roleplaying using FASERIPopedia! By Johnathan Nolan

 Using the retroclone superhero rules in FASERIPopedia, expand your game and run a whole fantasy roleplaying game using this sourcebook! OR -

"Embrace the world of King Arthur, one hundred of his Knights of the Round Table, their enemies, their Castles and Keeps, Abbeys, monsters, Magical Items and so much more!"

"Full rules for Knights, their Squires, Princesses, Sorceresses, Wizards, Witches, Men-at-Arms and Women-at-Arms and so many different creatures, people - one hundred entries detailing Knights of the Round Table, a gazette of the entire world of Camelot with locations and adventures and adventure suggestions, the whole sourcebook is devoted to giving you a fantasy roleplaying game campaign ready to roll- either using one of the King Arthur variants - youthful, heroic, old and silly - or just using the fantasy gaming elements minus the Arthuriana - or any mix you want to use!"

"The Bestiary lists all kinds of threats, and the encounter charts feature day and night variations for each type of environment as well as "overheard conversations", treasure chart, key and lock chart and even a traps and protections chart to generate random traps or other defensive measures!""

Anyone that knows me as a dungeon master & player knows that I take chances. And Driveby is having a sale & so I decided to take a chance on some FASERIPopedia! rpg titles. This included CAMELOT: Fantasy roleplaying using FASERIPopedia!. Now anyone whose in 'the know' realizes that FASERIP is the base system for TSR classic Marvel Super Heroes. Big shout out to Killer Shrike  from the Marvel Canon Project on Facebook. He turned me on to these titles and then guided me through on these. It was an add in Nexus magazine that sold me. Nexus isn't a gaming magazine but a conspiracy & esoteric  magazine that I used read when designing material for the Dark Conspiracy rpg.
CAMELOT: Fantasy roleplaying using FASERIPopedia! is the end all and be all of FASRIP Camelot and Arthurian rpging. Camelot  uses a variety of public domain comic book and Arthurian lore into a pleasing package in three hundred & seventy eight pages. And Camelot  does it with PC options, customizable Camelot adventure locations, knight and courtly romance as well as much more. CAMELOT: Fantasy roleplaying brings home a variety of Camelot adventure options for campaign use because that's exactly what this is. CAMELOT: Fantasy roleplaying is a full blown FASRIP fantasy campaign done in a way that has excellent editing and very well edited pages.
Now how would I use CAMELOT: Fantasy roleplaying? An excellent question and the answer is two fold..  Basically I had  the Marvel Super Heroes Rpg: the Unofficial Canon Projects Marvel Super Hereos rpg Golden Age of Heroes book printed out, spiral bound, with a colour cover & black/white interior. CAMELOT: Fantasy roleplaying would be excellent to use with Marvel Super Heroes Rpg Golden Age of Heroes World War II campaign setting.

Arthurian heroes were all of the rage during World War II the Golden Ages of the comic book. And it's easy to see where and when CAMELOT: Fantasy roleplaying could be used to enhance a campaign. Don't worry we're not done yet.
Affectively we can use Camelot FR to great effect to create a customized campaign setting for FASRIP all by itself.
Because Camelot: Fantasty Roleplaying is part campaign and part sourcebook it's very easy to add it into other  logarithmic mathatically powered rpg's. And this includes Autarch's Ascendant Rpg which has an engine that it's author has provided conversions for.

This includes FASRIP powered rpg's where Marvel/FASERIP to Ascendant Rpg do the following:

MIG should be equal to lesser of STR or END
AGI should be equal to AGIL
VAL should be equal to FIGHTING
RES should be equal to PSYCHE
INS should be equal to REASON
CHA should be equal to INTUITION

Feeble = 1 SP
Poor = 2 SP
Typical = 3 SP
Good = 4 SP
Excellent = 5 SP
Remarkable = 7 SP
Incredible = 9 SP
Amazing = 11 SP
Monstrous = 13 SP
Unearthly = 15 SP
Shift X = 16 SP
Shift Y = 17 SP
Shift Z = 18 SP
Class 1000 = 20 SP
Class 3000 = 24 SP
Class 5000 = 30 SP

So is CAMELOT: Fantasy roleplaying using FASERIPopedia! worth the money?! In a word it is because it expands the options for super heroes rpg's and FASRIP. And Camelot does an excellent job with bells on!

Review & Commentary On M2 Marvel Super Heroes RPG: The Unofficial Canon Project Darkhold by Necromancer For The Marvel Super Heroes Rpg

 "For untold millennia, Cthon and his black sacrament, the Darkhold, have plagued the world with unparalleled suffering and darkness. Since before mankind ever met it’s existence, black hearted sorcerers have sought the Darkhold and it’s infernal power so that they may rule over the world and unleash Cthon upon the Earth dimension once more. The Darkhold’s black pages have unleashed countless horrors upon the world, vampires, werewolves, zombies and other nameless and stygian forces. Even the book itself thirsts for the souls of the living, pray fearful reader, pray that you do not find your own soul swallowed by it’s inky black pages."

"Within these pages you will find in depth information featuring the powers and history of Cthon and the Darkhold.

An expanded section detailing the known magic spells within the Darkhold’s pages.

Write ups featuring the spawn and servants of Cthon and the Darkhold.

Write ups featuring the Montesi family and the Darkhold Redeemers, valiant heroes in the war against black sorcery."

Originally I joined the
Marvel Super Heroes RPG: The Unofficial Canon Project for a copy of M2 Marvel Super Heroes RPG: The Unofficial Canon Project Darkhold by Necromancer. The G Drive has some fantastic stuff for the MSH game. But the group's organizational skills need some work. And yes,  it's understood that these MSH supplements  are  free fan works.  But it took me quite awhile to be able to find a copy of M2 The Dark Hold. However, it was well worth the wait. The Darkhold is basically the Bronze Age Marvel comicbook's Necronomicon.In other words a powerful book of dark magic that corrupts anyone or anything it touches. Comes complete with an elder demonic author.
 M2 The Dark Hold clocks in at thirty pages & has pretty much the entire package of the Darkhold's history, background, demonic author, prehistory, major spells, and more. The Darkhold's history weaves it's way through the Prehistory of Marvel's Earth into the time of Kull & Conan.

We get into Cthon the author & elder god's history and why the Darkhold was penned. It's effects on the prehistoric Marvel universe. The struggles of the black god of the book. The earliest interactions with some of the Marvel universe's mightest Sword & Sorcery champions.

Again we get the impression that any interaction with Cthon is bad news for anyone involved. The Darkhold is at the heart of the creation of Marvel's werewolves & vampires.
As I've said M2 is a wealth of information & background on the Darkhold. The Darkhold is so powerful that it has woven it's way through Marvel's Kull, Conan, not to mention more modern titles such as Tomb of Dracula & Werewolf by Night.

Cthon itself has become one of the more 'successful' elder gods ie demonic Lovecraftian lords. He  indirectly reponsible for causing the events of M day by corrupting the Sarclet Witch since her birth in the shadow of Mt.Wundagore.
And this corruption happens again & again in the Darkhold's history. Darkhold even caused Stephen Strange a multipicity of problems. This included the indirect resurrection of his brother Vic upon the return of the Earth's vampires. The Darkhold was involved with the vampires  destruction & their resurrection after several years in the Earth 616 contiuum. The reason why I speak about these events is too illustrate the dark power of the Darkhold.
The Darkhold isn't  a book to be taken lighly & that includes using it within your own MSH games. Even Morgan Le Fay & the cult of the Darkholders wanted nothing to do with Cthon & imprisoned him under
 Wundagore Mountain.

That shouldn't prevent you from using M2 Marvel Super Heroes RPG: The Unofficial Canon Project Darkhold by Necromancer for your own games. With such a dark & twisted book of dark magick at the heart of  a MSH's game campaign the motives for a group of heroes is easy to see. M2 Marvel Super Heroes RPG: The Unofficial Canon Project Darkhold by Necromancer is available in the 'other section' of the group's G Drive.

You can get M2 Marvel Super Heroes RPG: The Unofficial Canon Project Darkhold by Necromancer By Joining the Marvel Super Heroes RPG: The Unofficial Canon Project group on Facebook here.

Review & Commentary On MA15 The Unofficial Canon Project Marvel Super Heroes Rpg Heroes of The North For The Marvel Super Heroes Rpg By TSR

 So once again I find myself raiding the Unofficial Canon Project Marvel Super Heroes Rpg archives & came across  MA15 The Unofficial Canon Project Marvel Super Heroes Rpg Heroes of The North. So why is this an important sourcebook? Because if your a DM or player who uses Alpha Flight then according to the author; "So why the sourcebook?

There were a couple of different reasons, the first was that I always thought there was enough material in the Alpha Flight lore, despite various volumes, to make up a  sourcebook: Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Omega Flights, Department H and K, the Weapon X project, the Great Beasts, the Inuit gods, Caliber, and countless others. These characters have a rich history and one that deserves to be told in a decent format. John Byrne, despite not caring much for the characters or even really wanting the job, tapped into something with the characters that drew fans to them. Secondly, George Henson and I talked about working on this together, but life got in the way, and he had to bow out...So I figured I would do what I could to carry it across the finish line. Lastly...Because we need one. We have one for the X-Men, Avengers and Fantastic Four...why not Alpha Flight?'  MA15 The Unofficial Canon Project Marvel Super Heroes Rpg Heroes of The North book is a solid 191 pages of wall to wall Canadian heroes, villains, NPC's, equipment, and even the lairs of the various flights!

MA15 The Unofficial Canon Project Marvel Super Heroes Rpg Heroes of The North does an excellent job of breaking down just about everything about the background, history, etc. of the various teams. This includes some of the secrets of Department H&K, the shadowy & spooky governemental organizations responsible for the creation of the Weapon X programs, Wolverine, and much more. MA15 The Unofficial Canon Project Marvel Super Heroes Rpg Heroes of The North goes down the long rabbit hole of some solid information on the various incarnations of the characters of Alpha, Beta, & Gamma Flight. This includes some of the obscure ones as well!
MA15 The Unofficial Canon Project Marvel Super Heroes Rpg Heroes of The North  is pretty much a must for any Marvel child of the Eighties who loves the Flights! Seriously there is a ton of info in this book & it's not afraid to go into some massive amounts of details about the darker & more sinister terrority of Alpha Flight's comic runs.

MA15 The Unofficial Canon Project Marvel Super Heroes Rpg Heroes of The North pretty much covers it all when it comes to the teams & especially the missions of the flights. As a team & events surrounding the super heroes are occupying the sourcebook with plenty of room for PC's to be slipped into the background quite easily. MA15 The Unofficial Canon Project Marvel Super Heroes Rpg Heroes of The North follows the usual high standards & qualities of the Unofficial Canon Project's standards.

OSR Review & Commentary On M6 The Unofficial Canon Project Marvel Superheroes Werewolf By Night Supplement For The Marvel Super Heroes Rpg

 So no games this weekend because of a head cold (no it's not Covid. I've been tested & it's negative). So instead I've been making notes on  M6 The Unofficial Canon Project Marvel Superheroes Werewolf By Night supplement. And if you haven't joined  The Unofficial Canon Project on Facebook here or if you have M6 The Unofficial Canon Project Marvel Superheroes Werewolf By Night Supplement is on the main G drive for download. If you don't know about the classic Marvel Werewolf By Night comic book series which ran from 1972 through 1977 here's a bit of information on the wiki entry;"The Werewolf by Night (usually referred to by other characters simply as the Werewolf) is the name applied to two fictional characters who are werewolves appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The first incarnation of Werewolf by Night, Jack Russell, first appeared in Marvel Spotlight #2 (February 1972), while the second incarnation, Jake Gomez, debuted in Werewolf by Night #1 (October 2020).

The Jack Russell incarnation of Werewolf by Night appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe feature Werewolf by Night TV special, portrayed by Gael García Bernal.

Now M6 The Unofficial Canon Project Marvel Superheroes Werewolf By Night is Bronze age Marvel horror goodness in book form. Going over the earliest appearances of the titular Jack Russell 'Werewolf By Night' character, supporting characters, enemies, cults, timeline, magic items, and more.

With a highly successful Halloween special behind it on Disney+ for 'Werewolf By Night' the time is perfect for the  M6 The Unofficial Canon Project Marvel Superheroes Werewolf By Night Supplement. Seriously the writers & designers  of The Unofficial Canon Project Marvel Superheroes couldn't have timed it better. But if I'm running a 1939 pre World War II Marvel Super Heroes game what good is M6 The Unofficial Canon Project Marvel Superheroes Werewolf By Night Supplement?! Well it's actually quite perfect because not only does it have updated werewolf rules for MSH. But it also contains details on other members of the Russell family themselves along with Jack himself. So in theory PC's in 1939 could run into other past members of the Russell family suffer with the curse of the werewolf.

M6 The Unofficial Canon Project Marvel Superheroes Werewolf By Night Supplement does an excellent job of maintaining the TSR MSU rpg tribute. The supplement does this with not only the Werewolf NPC's but with the layouts, cartography, and even the fonts used in the M6 The Unofficial Canon Project Marvel Superheroes Werewolf By Night Supplement. But is M6 The Unofficial Canon Project Marvel Superheroes Werewolf By Night Supplement worth your time as a DM?! Well if your interested in actually running a Bronze age Marvel style horror themed campaign with zombies, werewolves, cults, and worse?! Oh most definitely.  The Unofficial Canon Project Marvel Superheroes group of writers & designers has done an excellent job of emulating not only the classic TSR MSH rpg systems but giving us a very faithful supplement romp that delivers the classic Werewolf by Night goodness over & over. Five out of five stars for the M6 The Unofficial Canon Project Marvel Superheroes Werewolf By Night Supplement. A really solid addition to The Unofficial Canon Project Marvel Superheroes line of supplements & books!
