To say I'm a fan of the works of Jules Verne is pretty much an understatement. He is one of the modern fathers of science fiction and adventure entertain literature. His influence and reputation are legendary. So when I stumbled upon this 1911 edition of his works I had to share. These stories make a fantastic resource for gaming and I can't even begin to go over all of this material. But its all here for DM's to use.
A few of my OD&D and AD&D first edition DM's or mentors were huge Verne fans and made sure I read through every single piece of his works. 

The thing about Jules Verne's work is that everyone reads it in school but very few folks actually read the unabridged editions which contain very useful tid bits here and there that can be used to link quite a few adventures together. 
From OD&D to Call of Cthulhu this is a seminal resource.

His collaboration with the publisher Pierre-Jules Hetzel led to the creation of the Voyages Extraordinaires, a widely popular series of scrupulously researched adventure novels including Journey to the Center of the Earth, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, and Around the World in Eighty Days

Five Ray Harryhausen movie Trailers As Influence For Your Old School Campaign

Ray Harryhausen is a major influence on many DM's and their campaigns. These are a few of the movies that I love to turn to. Here's a few of my favorites for your Friday. These are a few of my favorites with giant monsters, sword and sorcery adventure, and the incredible artistry of Harryhausen.

Read Junji Ito's Work On Line - Japanese Master Manga Horror Artist

Born in 1963, Junji Ito is one of the most haunting and weird manga artists I've ever run across. His work and style simply stick with you.  His manga stories are intelligent and very haunting to say the least.  Needless to say that his work isn't for the faint of heart or children. Seriously this stuff isn't for the kids. Consider yourselves warned.

Junji Ito is a Japanese horror manga artist. Some of his most notable works include Tomie, a series chronicling an immortal girl who drives her stricken admirers to madness, 

I first ran across this artist's work in the pages of Unspeakable Oath way back for Call of Cthulhu. His work just sort of stays with you. Dark and very haunting stuff. And now you can read it on line.I bare no responsibility for any madness induced by this material.  

I first ran across this artist's work in manga back in the early 2000's. I don't think I've ever seen an artist whose work comes close to it.
According to Wiki:

Junji Ito was born in the Gifu prefecture of Japan in 1963. He was inspired from a young age by both his older sister's drawings^[1] and the work of Kazuo Umezu. Ito first began writing and drawing manga as a hobby while working as a dental technician in the early 90's.^[2]In 1987, he submitted a short story to Gekkan Halloween that won an honorable mention in the Kazuo Umezu Prize (with Umezu himself as one of the judges).

In addition to Kazuo Umezu, Ito has cited Hideshi Hino, Koga Shinsaku, Yasutaka Tsutsui, and H.P. Lovecraft as being major influences on his work.^[3]

Some of the recurring themes of Ito's work include body horror, seemingly ordinary characters who begin to act out of irrational compulsion, the breakdown of society, deep sea organisms, and the inevitability of one's demise.

Ito's universe is also very cruel and capricious; his characters often find themselves victims of malevolent unnatural circumstances for no discernible reason or punished out of proportion for minor infractions against an unknown and incomprehensible natural order.
