Comments, G+, Reviews, & Social Media On The Swords and Stitchery Blog

I've seen a couple of posts on social media about blogs with comment sections turned off.  Swords and Stitchery was hit by a series of spammers and spammer bots about a year back. Since I work a full time job I don't have lot of time to answer comments on the blog. So what was I going to do? Well, the short answer was to join G+ for my old school gaming communications and conversations especially about this blog. That's where if you want to communicate with me and talk about stuff on the blog you can reach me. So far its worked out great. Part of the reason for all of this is to maintain this blog under my control as both author and gamer. So I'm not going to turn on the comments here. If you want to reach me then do so on G+ or through the email connected with this blog.

YOU CAN REACH ME HERE IF YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT OLD SCHOOL GAMES

This commentary comes with a warning. I don't suffer fools gladly and can't stand political rants, or other bull. I'm on social media to talk about games, retroclones, and old school Dungeons and Dragons.
So if you've got anything to say and want to talk about games and such you can reach me on G+

G+ has been great for bringing more products to review, new ideas, and plenty of material for old school and retroclone gaming. In point of fact the OSR and some of it can be a bit well overwhelming at times.  I've really enjoyed the experience of using social media and so far this option has worked out quite well. I'll have more original material coming up later on.

New Blog on the Block - Fractalbat A lair for gaming, sci-fi, comics, and other geekish pursuits

So I got an email from Tom from the Fractalbat blog which is an OSR new word press blog on the block that I was unaware of. For the past couple of months Tom has been commenting and conversing with me through this blog. So I'd like to take a minute to give a shout back and say thanks. If you haven't checked out his blog, you can see it right over HERE
I haven't had a whole lot of time lately to check out some of the other blogs I've been following over the last couple of years. Work has been kicking my butt lately and I've got a few side projects that have been sucking up my time.
I'm very happy to see new folk make the plunge into OSR blogging. My advice is to keep at it. Find your niche and keep going.
 Game on folks!
Thanks for all the comments Tom and take a minute to checkout his blog!

Beards And Beers Old School Dwarven Rpg !

Aos of the Metal Earth Blog whose art work I already dig has jumped on the bandwagon of   producing a new old school rpg called Beards and Beer with Jack Shear of Tales of the Grotesque and Dungeonsque blog. This is after a whole bunch of folks got hosed by the Axes and Anvils Kickstarter. I'm not going into a lot of the details of that debacle but you have my deepest regrets if you backed it.
The details of Jack's Beards and Beer rpg  can be found right over
HERE
Aos has been posting a ton of artwork and lore related to the project that feels more  HobbitThe Elfin Ship and Dark Crystal than LoTR.
This is simply fine with me. Also Gnolls vs Dwarves is always a winning combination in my book.
The series of posts actually reveals quite a bit of the rpg production process and gives a tiny glimpse of what goes on when making an rpg. This is one of the reasons why I'm paying attention to this little project. The whole thing feels very old school DYI to me and that fires up my imagination.
Do yourselves a favor and check out AOS's posts on this project and the awesome old school artwork that he's doing right over
HERE

All artwork is copyrighted and trademarked to their owners. Beards and Beer is trade marked and copy righted as well. No attempt is being made to infringe on the owners trade marks. This post is for entertainment purposes only.

New/Old Blog Dark Corners Of Role Playing For October

A couple of months ago I was trying to get another old school blog about horror role playing up but between work & everything else, it never came off. This was then & now's a different time. So I've been able to resurrect the idea & move forward with the content.
The Dark Corners of Role Playing has its first entry up. This is going to be another OSR blog concentrating on the horror & dark fantasy elements of our hobby.
Go check it out right Here
