Aftermath, Consequences, & Fallout From The Tainted Conception adventure For Red New Flesh Role Playing Game

What is the physiological and psychological impact of the adventure aftermath of Tainted Conception adventure either 'Red' or the Wretched version of the adventure?!  Let's dive into the under fabric of Tainted Conception;"A Holiday season-themed scenario for New Flesh  which could work in any other near future setting taking place in a biotech corporation  Christmas party (yeah, very original, we know)."

"An eclectic ensemble of individuals converges upon the Nakatomi Towers complex for their lavish christmas party. Most guests are employees who diligently serve the corporation's vision, but others are media representatives, business partners or client seeking the pinnacle of genetic advancements. As laughter and Christmas carols echoes through the building, fate takes an unforeseen turn: A group of terrorists seizes control of the Nakatomi Towers, shattering the revelry with chaos and fear. The Christmas party transforms into a battleground, and the attendees find themselves entangled in a high-stakes struggle against time.Amidst the confusion and peril, the Player characters must unravel the terrorists plot before catastrophe strikes. Each character hidden motivations and unique skills will be put to the test as they race against the clock to halt the assailants and restore order (30 pages)."

Needless to say the party of adventurers are exposed to 'other worldly' and alien lifeforms. Thus the PC's will never be the same.

The Red New Flesh, the true horror isn't always the monster itself, but the permanent, visceral changes and the way the world reacts to the characters' inevitable corruption.

Since the core concept of the "Tainted Conception" likely involves biological, psychological, and social contamination, let's break down the Expanded Aftermaths into those three categories.

Here is a table of expanded, long-term consequences that you can introduce after the main events of Tainted Conception:

 Expanded Aftermaths for Tainted Conception

1. Biological/Flesh Consequences (The Taint)

These are physical, often visible changes that manifest slowly and are tied directly to the Conception's unique biologies. They give a permanent mechanical penalty or a disturbing, unpredictable "Warping" effect.

Roll (d6)The Taint ManifestationPermanent Effect / Drawback
1The Weeping SeamA thin, pink-red seam of scar tissue runs the length of the character's body. It occasionally weeps a viscous, nutrient-rich fluid. Penalty: Requires a successful Toughness roll to avoid an hour of debilitating nausea whenever the fluid is released.
2The Muted SenseOne major sense (sight, hearing, touch) becomes compromised. Colors are muted, sounds are distorted, or all surfaces feel slimy. Penalty: All rolls reliant on that specific sense (e.g., Perception checks) take a -1 penalty.
3Parasitic SymbiosisA small, cold-blooded organism (like a vestigial twin or a metallic beetle) has taken residence in a cavity (armpit, throat, stomach). Benefit/Drawback: The organism can be used to pass a hidden message but must be fed raw meat daily (or take 1 point of Health damage).
4Unstable MetabolismThe character's bodily functions have become erratic. They may not need to sleep for days, but then crash for 18 hours, or they must consume specific, unpleasant materials to feel satiated. Drawback: Halve the effectiveness of all standard healing methods (medkits, standard sleep).
5The Conception BrandA patch of flesh on the chest or arm now perfectly mimics the texture and color of the Conception's core. Social Drawback: NPCs who are aware of the Conception's ritual instinctively recognize the brand, causing them to be Hostile unless placated.
6Anatomical DriftBones or joints begin to shift position slightly over time. The character gains a strange gait or their hands have an extra joint in each finger. Benefit/Drawback: Gain +1 to Climbing/Grappling rolls, but take -1 on all rolls requiring fine motor control (shooting, lockpicking).

2. Psychological Consequences (The Scar)

These consequences affect the character's mind, relationships, and worldview. They represent a permanent stain on the psyche and often generate new, irrational compulsions.

Roll (d4)The Scar ManifestationPermanent Effect / Compulsion
1Sensory EchoThe sounds, smells, or physical sensations of the Conception's climax repeat themselves during moments of stress. Compulsion: When under high stress (Combat, Intense Pressure), the character must succeed a Wits roll to avoid a round of catatonia (flashback).
2The Other ViewThe character is now convinced they can see through the eyes of one surviving fragment of the Conception or one of its victims. Compulsion: At random times, the character must investigate a specific, mundane detail (a smudge, a stain, a whisper) believing it to be a message from the "Other View."
3Kinship AversionThe character is intensely repulsed by or protective of an idea tied to the Conception (e.g., all forms of pregnancy, biological families, or specific body modifications). Drawback: Automatically fail all Magnetism/Social rolls when dealing with people who prominently represent this concept.
4Perpetual ParanoiaThe character is certain that a smaller piece of the Conception's core is being cultivated inside them, or that someone they trust is now an agent of the ritual. Drawback: The character always treats one designated ally as Untrustworthy, causing social conflicts or requiring a Brains roll to accept aid from that ally.

3. Social Consequences (The Fallout)

These are external, world-based changes that affect the character's life, reputation, and resources in the dystopian setting of The Red New Flesh.

Roll (d4)The Fallout ManifestationLong-Term Threat / New Faction
1Lost Data/AssetA crucial piece of personal history, an essential electronic ID, or a high-value piece of cyberware has been corrupted, stolen, or used for an unknown purpose by the Conception's enemies. New Threat: The character has a debt or a bounty tied to the lost asset, which will be collected by a new Hostile NPC faction in a future scenario.
2The Public TaintFootage, biometric data, or other evidence of the character's involvement has leaked to the Net/GutterPress. They are now a public pariah. New Threat: Police/Corporate patrols are more likely to target/detain the PC. Certain establishments (Hospitals, high-end Bars) refuse them service.
3Obsessive FollowersThe character is now a subject of cult-like obsession by individuals who worship the Conception's aesthetic or philosophy. New Faction: The "Worshippers of the Afterbirth" begin leaving disturbing "gifts" (fresh meat, biometric offerings) and attempt to aid/abduct the character to make them a new vessel.
4Corporate InterestThe Conception's unique biowaste or tissue samples are highly valuable to a specific MegaCorp (BioPharm, Cybernetics). New Threat: A relentless Corporate Acquisitions Team begins tracking the character, trying to capture them—not to harm them, but to study or replicate the Taint.

Assignments Within The Interzone of New Flesh Rpg - Session Report One - Novanexus Conflict!

The player's PC's found themselves deep in the underworld of Avilidad after following the Scarrli cultists into the tunnels that line the city. The PC's dealt with several drone mines that the cultists had left for them! This session picks straight up from our last session here on the blog.  Our party ran smack into the mutant spawn of the cult! And then we ran as we lost two of our PC's to their knives as the horrors came outta of the shadows.

We crossed over several tunnels and doubled back through the endlessly seeming tunnels, rooms, and more. Our party came face to face with no less then 3 massive bio nano spideroids and these are usually used for mutant clean up under certain corporate buildings.
We blew away two more mutant hybrids that came out of the shadows! We doubled down two more tunnels & ran into a mutant community. And ran smack into a weird mutated old man who cursed at us. Suddenly everything around us changed & we found ourselves in an empty tunnel. What the Hell?
That's when we headed up top and found ourselves within a retrofuturistic French metropolis where towering skyscrapers pulsed with holographic light?!  We found ourselves within the confines of Novanexus.
And just about as we got our barrings there was a scream from one of our NPC hirelings who was taken out by a shadowed stranger's knife in the back!

We had been followed by the Scarli mutant hybrids! And we killed for four more of these hybrid warriors with lots of gun fire & this brought out security droids, police, and more. Two of our numbers had a Hell of a time explaining why two ZoneTec agents were among our party and who had murdered our hireling. As well as how we had traveled from Avilidad to Novanexus without proper papers or a means of travel. So now we're in the ministry of offices of the
Agence de Contrôle des Anomalies (Agency for Anomaly Control) trying to explain why we're in Novanexus

" Novanexus is a role-playing game set in a retro-futuristic French metropolis where towering skyscrapers pulse with holographic light, and a mysterious phenomenon called the Glitch threatens to unravel the city's fragile balance. In this setting, players can take on the roles of diverse characters, from craftsmen preserving ancient traditions to hackers exploiting chaotic code, enforcers upholding order amid chaos, or investigators chasing elusive truths. Guided by the rogue AI Quirkmatrix, the Glitch disrupts technology with unpredictable, often deadly consequences, forcing Novanexus citizens to confront the cost of their dependence on technology."

Assignments Within The Interzone of New Flesh Rpg - Session Report One

" Enter the dystopian world of New Flesh, a future-noir roleplaying game where cyberpunk meets biological horror in the neon-drenched streets of Interzone. Set in then near future, when corporate power runs unchecked, this game draws inspiration from the works of William S. Burroughs, David Cronenberg, and other masters of transgressive fiction."

"New Flesh embraces the surreal and visceral, biotechnology reigns supreme over chrome and steel, transforming human bodies into corporate commodities. Underground labs conduct forbidden experiments, pleasure dens offer metamorphic experiences, and reality itself distorts in the wake of chimeric entities. In this haunting setting, player characters inhabit a world where flesh warps at corporate whim, consciousness fragments across biological interfaces, and survival demands moral compromise."

The Red Edition of New Flesh rpg has been on my mind for a couple of days after Legion of Myth covered the second edition of Wretched New Flesh by the Red Room. The Legion of Myth guys even dived into the magick and technology of Aviliadad. We've played the Red Edition of New Flesh extensively over the last couple of months. And it's all about how far the PC's are willing to compromise their morals, their existence and their very souls especially where the Interzone is concerned. Interzone is this region within Aviladad where the alien and the reality of the world break down. The aliens from outside our reality have begun to move in & their technologies have begun to move in. And this is where our Zonetec agents who are a part of the party steer them into doing work for them.

The party got deeply involved in the moving of black technologies cargo for Takeda Technologies which turned out to be assassin bots. These bots are deeply on the biotechnological side & completely alien. To stop these things from murdering the leaders of the Mutant Underground sparking off a riot. This means that the PC's had to take on dangerous implants and weird psionic powers. This leads into the Nakatomi Genetics Inc building incident.

This led to the PC's now on the track of Scarrli cultists who are a part of a an integrated Advilidad. Who are now diving down into the underground where the PC's must deal with the fall out.

OSR Commentary On Agents of W.R.E.T.C.H. – Second Edition Rpg & The Tainted Conception Adventure

Agents of W.R.E.T.C.H. – Second Edition Rpg goes deep into the setting the city-state of Eisenstadt, a fictional locale poised on the delicate border between Western and Eastern Germany and Czechoslovakia.

The city-state of Eisenstadt is the stage of the Western & Eastern agents. Some of these agents are poised with special abilities and powers that can change the tables for a party of agents. And this gets into something that I've been looking to do is to run a party of Agents of W.R.E.T.C.H. through the Red Room's Tainted Conception adventure.

Tainted Conception can easily be slotted into the back end of an  Agents of W.R.E.T.C.H. campaign easily. The player's PC agents are at the holiday party at  the Nakatomi Towers complex.
This holiday party is a breeding ground for many of the movers and shakers of Avilidad. And there's plenty of opportunity for the PC's to get into the thick of this adventure. Could it be that t
he city-state of Eisenstadt has ties to this holiday event. Does this mean that there's a third Cold War causing friction between the East & the West? The short answer is yes in our campaign. We're building the background of our campaign setting within the Wretchedverse.

This goes into the fact that Avilidad has been on the rise in the West & East as the megacorporations have been applying pressure in global politics.

These pressures are causing the governments of the world to put out thier own agents that are looking out for the agendas of thier country's governments. Cold War agent suddenly become relevant again as a new Cold War breaks out. What is sparking this new Cold War?! Could it be the biological and genetic technologies that are actually pushing the escalation within the East and the West? The short answer is that it could be.
The Nakatomi corporation might be feeling the pressure to advance thier cutting edge genetics and biological weapons division. This leads to the complications found within the Red Room's Tainted Conception adventure.  This is the perfect excuse for a party of agents to get involved within the events of the adventure. There's plenty of room to situate Tainted Conception within a brand new Cold War especially as things begin to heat up.
