I'm liking this series idea & I've got an opinion to share with you about post apocalyptic role playing games. Urban post apocalypse games get the short shaft! It's true, all of the really interesting places are out in the waste land. There are very few Gamma World or Mutant Future games that have urban adventures. Years back I set a Mutant Future game within New York using Kellri's Gamma World Game resources. You can find those find those resources Here
I would recommend the following:
The Mutant Manual II
The Scavenger's Guide
GW Settlement Record Sheet- Use it for city blocks as well as neighborhoods etc.
Wild In The Streets - This is a must along with Sci Fi City blocks.
The Cryptic Alliance Forms as well
If you have any trouble getting any of these head over to the Post Apocalyptic Forge Here
The Gold Key Series Mighty Samson had some awesome urban ruins & landscapes of New York. You can find that over at the Mutant Future Wiki Mighty_Samson

Anyhow this project will use actual abandon buildings as locations! These sorts of ideas were seen back in the 90s after the California quakes. There are some very cool urban monsters over at the Savage After world Here

The Project
For me to expire in humanity's bosom was to be born and become infinite, but if anyone put forward the hypothesis that a cataclysm might some day destroy the planet, I would be panic-stricken. - Jean Paul Satre
The End-Of-The-World is a scenario that has fascinated artists and storytellers as long as there has been a world to end.
Because of the costs of filmmaking, this genre of cinema has long been the domain of the megaplex.
No longer. With advances in filmmaking, and your help, we believe the time has come for a independent, haunting, exciting post-apocalyptic series.
No longer. With advances in filmmaking, and your help, we believe the time has come for a independent, haunting, exciting post-apocalyptic series.
By shooting in the real-life abandoned, disused spaces of New York, we aim to bring realism and production value and make the story come alive.
We want to show that smart, meaningful, soulful films don't have to be boring, and that zombie films don't have to be brainless.
The Interface
The most exciting factor about the web series medium is its ongoing interaction with its audience. You, the viewer, can effect the story as it progresses. We want to take this to the next level, and bring you into the process by showing not just how we make films but why we make them.
Along with the 5 episodes we will be releasing in April/May 2012, The Silent City will be uploading new tutorials and behind-the-scenes videos every week from Feb 2012 until the first season wraps. These will cover geeky things making ruins in Autodesk Maya and Adobe After Effects, as well transforming actors into the subterranean undead.
We hope these will help people that are starting out in the film industry, want to create something of their own, or are just curious about how things get done. Everyone who donates gets access to the tutorials, and can vote on topics for future ones.
The Team
Rubidium Wu trained as a painter, but like many artists of his generation, became fascinated with emerging technologies and the new worlds they could create. Over the last 10 as a filmmaker, he produced the art documentary 'Portraits of Silence' as well as directed commercials for Nike, Playstation, and Nintendo.
Eric Stafford is an actor with a strong interest in history, technology, science and sci-fi. Incidentally, he is drawn to physical activities that would be advantageous in post-apocalyptic world, like rock climbing & Brazilian Jiu-Jiitsu.
Kettie Jean is an actress with a passion for politics, philosophy and lost civilizations. Her experience as a traveller and hiker combined with her martial arts skills imakes her the perfect candidate for the last living woman.
Rob Rusli is a Chinese American composer, producer, sound designer, and rapper. He has composed symphonic works and concertos, as well as written musicals for the stage. He has written scores for multiple award winning films and balances the old school and the new school with his experimental rap group Blue Belt.
