Review & Commentary On Subsector Sourcebook: Adroanzi By John Watts For The Earth Sector & Clement Sector Rpg's

"Named for a group of nature and guardian spirits in Lugbara mythology, Adroanzi is the only fully settled subsector in Earth Sector which has no colonies founded by one of the nation-states of Earth. The subsector is considered by most in Earth Sector to be the beginning of the frontier when heading into Fjarron Sector, Sacrament Sector, or Ophelia Sector. Adroanzi is home to a single multi-system interstellar polity, the Antiochian Union. The worlds, banding together to stave off a perceived threat from Earth’s nations, are the only worlds in Earth Sector which have populations that are majority uplift or altrant. The worlds of Adroanzi were mainly founded by mining concerns as well as those looking to escape Earth for one reason or another. The populations of these worlds are quite low with some worlds in other subsectors, indeed some cities, having a larger population than the entirety of Adroanzi Subsector"

One thing I've learned as an Earth Sector or  Clement Sector DM is that one can never truly have enough subsector books for the Cepheus Engine powered 2d6 setting. And Subsector Sourcebook: Adroanzi By John Watts is a highly independant subsector book in Space Western style 2d6 Science Fiction game. We've talked about the Space Western theme that runs right through the Earth & Clement sector rpg's. But  Subsector Sourcebook: Adroanzi By John Watt takes it that extra light year or three because these are literally worlds founded on the edge of the black. This time these worlds are highly independant and sparsely populated. This isn't to say that the  : Adroanzi subsector isn't interesting! Far from it.
These are folks who value thier independence from Earth and are more then willing to fight against the nation states of Earth. These are the Earth's opposition and there's plenty of room to make money, lay claim, and carve out an empire under the noses of the corporate overlords of Earth.
Given the ratio of uplifted animal & alterants populations of this subsector vs the Earthlings out here the thought of being entirely independant from Earth makes a lot of sense. There's a lot of history between Earth and this subsector.
And there's a sense reading through John Watt's writing that there's a lot of water under the bridge between Earth & the Adroanzi systems. John Watt's writing is on point here and there's plenty of adventure opportunities for a group of like minded adventurers with a star ship and subsector to exploit.
The history, layout, font style are all on point and up to Independence Games standards. And the  Subsector Sourcebook: Adroanzi By John Watt does a great time of creating a solid & highly dangerous sourcebook that feeds directly into the quality of Independence Games materials. Do yourselves a favor and grab a copy of  Subsector Sourcebook: Adroanzi By John Watts.

Godstar/Clement Sector campaign Revival Using The Quick Ship File: Starguard System Defence Boat

The USS Evening Star a Trade Empire class ship belonging to  the First Heaven Mercantile Company (FHMC) is on course to be received at the Tasho Station. The PC's are aboard a Starguard System Defence Boat as mercenaries.

The whole cloth idea here of involving the First Heaven Mercantile Company (FHMC) is to try to revive my Godstar/Clement Sector rpg campaign. Which for a while was highly successful. The idea is that the Hyades sector was originally open to the Clement sector. And when the worm hole with Earth collapsed that it also collapsed the Hyades sector as well. The first thing that happens when the conduit opens is that starship designs are going to be exchanged when trade resumes.

One of these ship designs could well be the Starguard System Defence Boat which comes into our games as a system escort star ship. Why? Because of the capacity of these starships;"The Starguard Class System Defence Boat is a 400ton multi-purpose starship. It is not a true “System Defence Boat” as it has limited Jump-1 capability, but is popular with smaller systems who wish to have a reasonably capable ship able to be deployed in a variety of roles including system defence, customs inspection, police actions as well as being able to operate in a ground support role. It is also common with Mercenary Companies operating in a system defence role." The other ship in it's own role is the massive and impressive Trade Empire class starship. And it's a perfect ship in it's role as a trade embassitory ship;"The Trade Empire-class Commercial Transport is a massive 4500 tonne superfreighter.  This large vessel is capable of hauling 2670 tonnes of cargo through Earth Sector!"

Designed to carry mass quantities of materials for the large corporations in Earth Sector, this superfreighter has been used by corporations to carry cargo, by navies as a replenishment ship, and is sometimes used to carry other starships.  Armed with defensive weaponry, the ship can even hold off pirates when needed!"
The
First Heaven Mercantile Company (FHMC) has thier own internal armed forces, trade representives, etc. so our Trade Empire class ship is going to be fully manned by it's own personel.
And this set up of starships is going to get into the perfect seemingly target for pirates. And we'll get into those next time.

Murder and Mayhem -- A Zaibatsu/Hostile Mini Campaign On Colony World - Earth Session Report - The Roddy Unit Goes Rogue! - Session Report 10

This little session report comes on the heels of last weeks South of the border fiasco.  Nikita Crusca weapons expert is in our infirmery. And being guarded against any unforseen occurances.

Today coming back from breakfast at our favorite diner. The group of players needed some extra cash to trick out thier new lair in Houston. So they decided to do a bit of bounty hunting to get some extra coin. They checked in with some of the old group's contacts & found a bounty on a soldier clone named Max Reed. Reed is a bioroid with some heavy duty skills working for the Clone Underground & has been doing supply runs to a combat drug operation down in Mexico.
The September group contracted out with a shadow bank who wants several of thier assets back after Max had murdered the family of a local mafia Don and took over his operations. The contract was for a termination and asset recover.

Our plan was simple take out the Clone Underground facility that is masquerading as bandits where Max is making the supply runs too. We did that and collected several bounties from there and then secured the facility. Things went a bit South when the bandits that were using the base came back. We fragged them and then moved on.
Max came in hard and fast, but he came in with other forces! So needless to say after a protacted fire fight we secured the bank's assets ( helicopter, planes, etc). and then secured the bandit's base as well as the drug factory. From here we blew Max Reed to kingdom come. Yes we're not the good guys. Something was bothering us. Who had alerted Max?!
We've got the partially disassembled Roddy Android unit at our base at Houstan. We returned to find that the thing has escaped into the Texas desert after reassembling itself and murdering two of our NPC hirelings! He also warned Max Reed about us. My players want him badly.

Now the Roddy unit is out in this new Earth with a head full of technologies and techniques unknown to several of the mega corporations. And the bastard seems to have several systems we didn't detect. He's a slippy android and very dangerous.

Two of our number are going after the android and we think we know where he might be headed?! And that's near what used to be Hong Kong. So we've got two of our trackers on him. We think he's going to try to hook up with the Chinese Mafia.

Complications & Crime - - A Zaibatsu/Hostile Mini Campaign On Colony World - Earth Session Report 8

Hostile's Earth is whole different universe to the September Group & they've been keeping a low profile at the moment. They've gotten work busting android terrorist cells at the moment but the party is having to think on thier feet. They're sitting on thier hands with the cargo that they've liberated. The party has the  cargo of the precious endopalladium on board. They've parted with half of it and have stowed the rest for a rainy day.

Mother Russia has undergone a serious enviromental  & economic disaster on this Earth. This is not sitting well with the crew.
The party meanwhile has reclaimed thier old headquarters outside of Huston and taken up with bustig heads of the local bandits who have andies working to control several local cells. The September Group's 'return' to Huston has not gone unnoticed as the Tharis Heavy Industry corporate exacutive who double crossed the other September Earth is totally confused. Meanwhile the leader of the Mutant Underground has contacted the September Group about stolen medical supplies. This was part of a link that has to do with this blog entry here.
Meanwhile one of the slip tank & battle car drivers that the other group 'Eve 3' contacted the September group about a military job she had line up. It was taking out weapon runners South of the border down near the tip of South America.

Eve 3 has a contract with Stern Weapons for the recovery of 445 cases of automatic and small fire munitions that's been stolen from the company. A fast in and out job with little fuss except for a great deal of collaterial damage. The party's two psionists made details about the mission much more friendly to the locals keeping damage to a mininuim. The party found one of the other September group's members hold up in a local safe house during the mission. This incarnation of the September group blew the Hell out of the Neo Narco clan that was holding her. We bounced with Nikita Crusca weapons expert back to New Huston. And she's in medical being looked after by our Cyberdoc and will be down for a month or two with recovery.
The party came back to the fact that the Chinese mafia wants a word with us over the matter of a failed promise. And apparently some missing proles. And there's that little matter of the fact that the September group is supposed to be dead on Tau Ceti thanks to that weasel of a double crossing Tharis exacutive.

The Wastes Hostile's Colony Earth Using Other 2d6 Resources To Fill in The Blanks

So if we start deeply looking into Earth from Zozer Games it gets more and more screwed up. If there's a word in terms of Cyperpunk style Hostile Earth then it's balkanization. The Earth is a patchwork of corporate holdings and wastelands that you wouldn't want to cross. Withe amount of clones, replicants, and androids that are going renagade on Earth perhaps we should look into Moontoad Punblishing's Bounty Hunter's Handbook as a viable alternative for guidelines controlling these bounties.

So this brings up the fact that several of the drug cartels portrayed within Hostile's Earth rpg setting are able to field small armies. And the only thing that could possibly measure up to them are corporations which have armies of thier own.
And this brings up the fact that these lawless  areas could be far more common then the averager person thinks especially given the number of 'dustbowl areas'. And it brings up the point  of why are so many andys and bioroids fleeing to Earth.
The only answer comes from popular culture because they want more life.
Androids and proles are an intricate part of the newer system of A.I. slavery. Which means that these androids are also going to be a new commodity to be exploited.
And for those pushed to the edge or fringe such as gangs, and syndicates these androids are going to be an opportunity for profit. What types of gangs?! The scum of the Earth and these might be represented by warriors and cutthroats straight outta of Barbaric 2nd edition.  A few generations out in the wastelands with no heat, electricity, and basics subject to the weird radiations out there.

Things could get pretty close to AD2000's Cursed Earth quite easily and plus you don't have corporate papers or ID?! Things might get close to Mad Max in the wastelands quite easily. And there are whispers of flying saucers or worse out in the wastes. And these places have become the new fringe realms. Places your PC might not come back from at at all.
The Wastes are not to be trifled with from weather to full on horrors from beyond. T
here's plenty of room for lots of things to happen within a Hostile campaign to take the wings right out from a party.

Somewhere Over The Hyperspacial Rainbow - A Zaibatsu/Hostile Mini Campaign On Colony World - Earth Session Report 7

Following the events on  Tau Ceti five 'The September Group' met up with thier troop transport and then headed back to thier fleet. The Roddy unit wasn't willing to give up his secrets to the group and he's quite valuable.
So the party has decided to put him on ice for the time being and began to look into the neural parasites. The party's exoscientist made some really good rolls and looked at the brains of the two Chinese soldiers the party picked up on the last adventure. This came with the party's cyberdoc Sawbones. And there were some interesting parallels from when the party had experiences with the Invaders from
from Attack Squadron Roswell.  More importantly the two Chinese soldiers had undergone Whole Brainwave Synchro-Energiser pattern therapy.
This was because two incisions had been done at the base of the neck to
remove the parasites.
The experiences were so horrifying that the soldiers had to be brain wiped.

The players PC's then met up with the September fleet and were ordered to return to Earth to make a full report. The party switched over to thier own Rockwell Harbinger Linkovoa which has been modified to haul the Setember Group's
military hardware. And they have
the precious endopalladium on board.
The Linkovoa when to make the jump into hyperspace through jump point
& something went very wrong. The party has found itself around Earth but just not the Earth that they know! And this was totally after a two year cyro sleep.

Thier contact point wasn't there and the Soviet stations weren't answering. More over they had to come up with transponder codes that worked but too a totally different set of landing handlers.
The party's psionists were scanning and getting total confusion from the Earth officials. The party's codes checked out but they were escorted to drydock for debriefing. The party's documents checked out but the corporates had heard the party was dead some two years ago.
They contacted thier corporate contact inside Tharsis Heavy Industries
and the gent was totally confused until they spoke of  the precious endopalladium
and then there was discussions of bonus pay. Our former
KriPo (criminal police) officer now organized crime consultant and investigator contacted two of his Chinese underworld contacts. And they thought he was dead.
The Chinese wanted to speak at length about the situation on Tau Ceti but were confused as to the events on Tau Ceti 5.
The  players contacted Wild Bill thier cyberlegger buddy outside of New Houston and he was confused about the party being dead or at least that's what he'd heard. He'd like to hire the September group to help take care of a little local bandit  trouble at the usual rate.

The party wanted to know if Wild Bill was in contact with the local android and cybernetic expert. The party wants to know what the facts are rattling around in the head of the Roddy unit.
Unless you haven't figured it out by now the player's PC's have crossed over into another universe. And thier trying to make heads or tales about this creepy new Earth.

The HOSTILE Situation Report 009 - Extraction - A Zaibatsu/Hostile Mini Campaign On Colony World - Tau Ceti Session Report 6

Tau Ceti five was an interesting little romp with the PC's having to work with thier rivals 'The Coldwell group from last game session here on the blog. The September group went in hard with them putting thier mecha in to help with running miners and others on Tau Ceti five. This latest romp found the September group dealing with the local conditions with the wind whipping the paint off of thier military hardware quite nicely. What they didn't expect was to come under Chinese heavy fire. The Chinese mercs want the  final shipment of precious endopalladium waiting in a warehouse nearby. This follows closely with events depicted in  Paul Elliot's latest Hostile Situation Report #9 - Extraction.

But we expanded way beyond the situation report because we had Chinese corporate  forces on the ground that had no business being there. And this became the focus for our party's cyberdoc. There was something 'off in his words' about the soldier's movements. And this is where we captured one of the Chines soldiers and something was way off about the guy.
A quick once over by Sawbones our cyberdoc found one of Tau Ceti five's parasites wrapped around his brain stem. This explained the weird troop movemebt but not why they were trying to hijack the endopalladium.
The Coldwell group's mercenaries had serveral modifications to them that made it very uncomfortable for the parasites to infect them.

Conclusion the Coldwell group knew going into Tau Ceti five that there were Chinese corporate mercenary forces on the ground making extraction of the miners and the precious endopalladium a hazard. A then there's the creepy android scientist who keeps showing up with our party. This mission had corporate set up all over it. The Coldwell group uses equipment and tactics from Moon Toad  publishing's Bounty Hunter's Handbook

And our creepy android scientist unit code named 'Roddy' wanted any parasites saved for him that were extracted. This didn't sit really well with the rest of the party. Did mention that our friendly Roddy unit looks exactly like a young Roddy McDowell from the classic Seventies show 'Fantastic Voyage'. And it also has the same moral compass as the character from the same show?!

Now asside from the fire fight and some near hits from the miners. The September group managed to secure the precious endopalladium and the Roddy unit while stranding the Coldwell group on Tau Ceti five!
They have samples of the neural parasite, the Roddy android in thier brig, and two Chinese soldiers on ice. They also have several miner witnesses whose contracts they've taken on for thier own.
The September Group fears that the neural parasites are part of the set up they encountered when they took on the Invaders from Attack Squadron Roswell.
Thier heading back to meet up with thier troop transport & base to have the whole thing researched and analazed.

The HOSTILE Situation Report 009 - Extraction - A Zaibatsu/Hostile Mini Campaign On Colony World - Tau Ceti Session Report 5

Right I haven't been on Facebook in two days because of real life however when I logged on this morning Paul Elliot had sent me the latest Hostile Situation Report #9 - Extraction. The set up goes something like this; " The mining colony's a bust and the company has decided to pull out. The lawless colonists will be left to their own devices, but behind a screen of frightened soldiers, the last four corporate executives need to be extracted from the landing field. Oh, and don't forget the final shipment of precious endopalladium waiting in a warehouse nearby. You've accepted the contract... but when you arrive you realise the situation is anarchy... Now what? "

These events pick right up from here on the blog with the PC's meeting up with the bounty hunters from last game. The party were invited along with the bounty hunter's party for the extraction which was taking place in the Tau Ceti system's mining colony.
Yes we're changing the venue but keeping the gist of the world; " In the Hostile setting, this world is LR806 (FOM 0806), orbiting the binary suns of 81 Pegasi. It is a dry, bleak little world, with scattered lakes and a mining population of 12,000 that, following a plague and then a famine five years ago, descended into controlled anarchy"
So we're keeping the bleak little world and the lakes with the colonial population. And the colonial population is at the breaking point. The PC's are scheduled to meet up with the creepy android scientist NPC from last session.
Things have broken down on Tau Ceti five  colony because of Chinese corporate efforts including sabotaging the grain and food stuffs of the colonies. Colonists are mad, bad, and very desparate!

And this leads into the PC's working with the Coldwell group who are   the September group's rivals. I rolled these NPC's up using Zaibatsu & Moontoad publishing's Bounty Hunter's Handbook. The Coldwell Group is modified for working on the harsh enviroments of Tau Ceti Five & the dangerous environs. This includes the horrid parasite that drives men mad when it burrows beneath the brain stem of the victim. And yes this totally a homage to Star Trek Wraith of Khan. Hence why the creepy android scientist is there again. We'll get into Roddy model of android next time.

The HOSTILE Situation Report 008 - Life Cycle - A Zaibatsu/Hostile Mini Campaign On Colony World - Tau Ceti Session Report 4

Let's  pick it up from last week's game. Our player's freaked at thier 'comrades' shaking and foaming at the mouth quite literally. And then the player's PC's with thier two flame throwers without heistation!! Rifles were trained on the 'scientist' that the PC's were escorting and that's when the evac order came in from our PC's employer.

This session picks up with us using  HOSTILE Situation Report 008 - Life Cycle on the alien jungles of Tau Ceti. Needless to say that as soon as our party dropped the 'scientist' back to his people. Everyone in the party hit medical at the base to scanned, probed, and radiation bombarded to kill any alien life forms they may have encountered.
The players were not comfortable at all! It was glorious to see the effects of a good solid bit of paranoia that I had inserted into the session.

Tau Seti has been less then welcoming to our Soviet mercenaries in the alien jungles. And getting thier next assignment was both a shock and surprise. Imagine if you will that the mercenary corporation defaults on thier corporate loan. Now imagine if for a moment that you've got to collect said military asset for the corporate bank in one piece. Tau Ceti is a mega world of alien fauna and flora. And the idea of legally stealing three hover vehicles from the mercenary base of a group of rivals was a challenge my players loved.

The player's PC's were inserted 10 klicks from thier rivals base & given explicited instructions to incapacitate but not kill any soldiers encountered. Everything was going to plan except for the giant man catcher plant that the party encountered! Knives and brute force plus some lucky die rolls took the thing out.  But they attracted the attentions of a Jabberwocky or two. The party did the sensible thing and actually ran away.
And this is when they ran into a party of bountry hunters who were sent in too grab a wayward runner who is being employed by the September group's rivals. I rolled these NPC's up using Zaibatsu & Moontoad publishing's Bounty Hunter's Handbook. For once the party decided not to start shooting and ask questions later. The party didn't find out what umm modifications the bounty dogs have.

The HOSTILE Situation Report 008 - Life Cycle - A Zaibatsu/Hostile Mini Campaign On Colony World - Tau Ceti Session Report 2

Let's pick it up from last Friday's session report on the blog  During this afternoon's game I decided to shove the player's PC's into deeply the alien jungle & then use HOSTILE Situation Report 008 - Life Cycle. The PC's got the assignment of ; " your infantry team to drop into the depths of an alien jungle, avoid enemy patrols, meet up with commandos returning from a long range patrol, and escort them back the pick up zone. Just a routine mission, right?"

"But the commandos aren't too happy about being led by the PCs. The enemy seem to all around them. There is a mysterious scientist accompanying the commandos. And a couple of those guys don't look very well, at all.  It's not so routine, now, is it?"

The PC's managed to grab the scientist that were assigned to. That's where the commandos came into play. The
"The September Group" aka Сентябрьская группа who became a major force within our Hostile rpg campaign saved the commandos from the Chinese. Events were taking shape. The HOSTILE Situation Report 008 - Life Cycle material is just enough so that the player's PC's got deep into the warzone.

The PC's are now sharing camp with the cammandos. And they don't  like the fact that the soldiers are very, very, sarcastic.

And boy the player's don't like the commandos at all!
The PC's don't know that the scientist they saved is actually running an experiment on the PC's themselves.
Things are very quiet and the night is filled with highly dangerous alien animals and plants.

The HOSTILE Situation Report 008 - Life Cycle materials are very well put together. And it has interesting possibilities.
There some great Pulp perspectives that the DM can inject right into thier Tau Ceti campaign.
The threat is very real, the material within Report 008 is well put together. And it can kill off even an experienced Hostile group of player's PC's.

"We're On Our Own' A Zaibatsu/Hostile Mini Campaign On Colony World - Tau Ceti Session Report 1

"War is hell. The super-jungle is hell. Put those two together and you just know there's zero chance of finishing your tour alive..."  - Corporal Mike Simms, 3rd Marine Division

So I'm just getting back home now from lunch with friends & we're discussing the "The September Group" aka Сентябрьская группа who became a major force within our Hostile rpg campaign. The group is made up of veteran power armor & mecha pilots. This brings us to Tau Cheti and the fact that the Сентябрьская группа  have been there as 'advisors'. So we are caught between the
And we've been using China Sea War to pad out some of the Tau Ceti action! We came in with two converted 'Tramps'  and our own mecha. And the Chinese forces quickly broke contract.

We're not sure what's happening but there's been trouble up North on Tau Ceti. We used Walker designs our own creation straight outta of Moontoad publishing's Vehicle Design Guide.

Now we're on our own and without backup. The marines are already hunting us and the Chinese have broken contract. And the fauna are hunting us as well. Did I mention that the plants have acidic sap too!? And did I mention that Ares Defense Contractors has ties deep in with the marines!
The weird thing is that it was actually the Vietnam colonists and soldiers who helped us out. And we picked up contract with them! And we've taken out two marine tanks before moving deep into Tau Ceti under jungle.

Parley Around The Table - Session Report Two - Stars Without Numbers Revised/Cepheus Engine rpg Hybrid Campaign

Alright so let's dive back into the deep end of hyperspace for a moment. We'll pick this blog post up right from here.  Why? Because back when we were running Stars Without Number rpg one of our player's PC's sacrificed himself to save the rest of the player's PC's from a hyperspace beast. He was sucked into hyperspace & never seen again. Robert's character has been trapped in hyperspace since 2014 in our current Cepheus Engine/Stars Without Numbers Revised rpg campaign. Will Robert comeback? Shrug, I don't know but his PC's spectre has been casting a huge shadow across the current campaign. His PC is currently trapped in a hyperspacial corridor around a gas giant out in the outer edge of the galaxy. So for the moment Franklin is sitting on the shelf literally.

The Fall of Man set mankind back to pre FTL but the climb back has been leaps & bounds. Are there aliens?! Yes & no, mostly these are pre & post mankind having been modified into client races. And this brings up the fact that the PC's have had to fallback onto their mega-corpation patrons from last year. And so after selling one ship they've had to buy their own Harbinger, a multi-purpose freighter from their former patrons. The experience was ummm humbling to say the least.

And the PC's are wondering if they could pull a miracle out of their collective rearends!
Now facing down  three Trent Class Apex destroyers  the players have decided to parley. And surprisingly the destroyer captains said yes.

The captains were more then happy to parley & wondering who the Hell was poking around this God forsaken outpost. They were wondering if the players were pirates and since their letters of commerence were in order. The explained about professor Franklin being stuck in hyperspace and all three captains laughed because of the amount of radiation that was bombarding the hyperspace gate point.
So instead the captains cut a deal with the players PC's to take valuable mining equipment from Apex's gas giant mining operation to one of their other colony holdings! From possible fight to charter in the flip of the dice. Apex literally gassed up the PC's ship & they've asked the New England Boi's to meet them at the colony using a hyperspace skiff.

The Uninvited Guests Apex At The Table - Session Report One - Stars Without Numbers Revised/Cepheus Engine rpg Hybrid Campaign

After cutting deals at one of the scummiest alien bases in the galaxy. The player's PC's received a signal from the outer edge of the galaxy. And so they spent the better part of 5 weeks in hypersleep. The head cold I have continues to play havoc with my head & sinuses. On the plus side, we've been able to take a hiatus on our current Stars Without Numbers Revised/Cepheus Engine rpg Hybrid Campaign.  Currently we've updated our current campaign by having the PC's exploring an abandoned base on the outter edges of the galaxy. For this we're using Moontoad Publishing's  Scout Base 947 Adventure.

In the depths of the base are the remains of an A.I. copied from the mind of a historian & socialist played by one of our players back in 2014. Robert's PC is a clone and is still unsure if he's the master clone or simply another copy. Mega corporations have used clones of this historian in their own games and to create other A.I.'s. For the moment he is nameless & Robert's PC seemingly parished sacrificing himself to save the rest of his party. So how is an A.I. copy running a base on the edge of the galaxy.

And that's when three Trent Class Apex destroyers showed up! These three belong to the Apex megacorporation. And the PC's have no truck with Apex a spectre outta of the past!

To Be Continued!

Review & Commentary On The Ship Files: Polixenes Class Courier By Michael Johnson From Moontoad Publishing For Clement Sector Rpg, Cepheus Engine rpg, & 2d6 Old School Science Fiction Rpg Campaigns

"Used by both the Stellar Exploration Corps and the Terran Union
Space Navy, the Polixenes was a design initially commissioned by
the navy to provide fast and efficient fleet communications.
With its two parsec jump drive the Polixenes can bridge the average
five light year gap between most stars and a long range variant
sacrifices the cargo space for additional fuel to provide an additional
two parsec range.’

This book details the Polixenes Class Courier. A small vessel ideal for
players and for adventures in just about any setting.

Contains:

  • Description and Technical Information.
  • 2 versions, the standard and the Long Range variant.
  • Deckplans for both vessels.
  • Colour plates of 6 example craft.
  • Game stats and play sheets.
  • Example Crewman
  • Bonus feature: Cevalo Air/Raft

Compatible with the 2d6 SCIFI OGL and The Cepheus Engine SRD"

Moontoad Publishing has some amazing designs & artwork that can easily be ported into a Space Western setting especially the Clement sector. So let's talk about the how's & why's of the Ship Files: Polixenes Class Courier. The Polixenes Class Courier is a fast jag courier class starship that is perfect for the shadier adventurers. How does the design get into the Clement Sector?! The answer is simple, easy, & highly effective.  The Stellar Exploration Corps and the Terran Union Space Navy, are all active in the Clement sector from Earth before the worm hole collapses.
The
Polixenes Class Courier is a perfect exploritory spacecraft & outlaw lead scout ship. These craft are great lead craft for the rest of a pirate fleet targeting ships out on the trails of the Clement sector. Polixenes Class Courier's & their varients feel like part space plane & part hyperspace mavin. They dance around the outedges of hyperspace into unexplored systems surveying for valuable resources & then back into the civilized expanses of the Clement Sector.
 Polixenes Class Courier
would also make excellent law enforcement craft taking on the leads of hyperspace routes to keep the peace. And its the Polixenes Class Courier variant that make good partners for other heavier military space craft. The Clement sector has such a Space Western feel that the Polixenes Class Courier fits in for the scouts & explorers.

There are sections of the Clement Sector that remain dangerous & largely unexplored. These sections need to be opened up and the Polixenes Class Courier is the ship to do it! Fast, nimble, and capable of taking on far more then she seems capable of. This design remains a favorite of ours. DM Steve has used the Polixenes Class Courier as symbolic of several of our bounty hunting NPC villains. The Polixenes Class Courier  is a starship that makes a statement and it sticks out like sore thumb. Polixenes Class Courier's are perfect for low impact, high value cargos, and they are great for getting fast between adventure locations. The  Polixenes Class Courier is a really cool starship that's solidly written by  Michael Johnson. The variants are really easily slipped into an on going campaign. For the space western genre the Polixenes Class Courier is a solid addition for PC's looking for a different but fast star ship that looks badass.
