Zaibatsu Rpg Adventure - The Chiba Connection

Here is an adventure for the Zaibatsu RPG, using the system's core mechanics and stats, involving a bodyguard and their corporate charge. And this connects back to our OSR Commentary - The Long Shadow of The Zaibatsu rpg by Paul Elliot From Zozer Games

Adventure: The Chiba Connection
Synopsis: The PCs are contracted by the powerful Daiyon Zaibatsu to escort Akari Tanaka, a brilliant but naive biotech researcher (the "charge"), to a secure data drop in the Chiba sprawl. Akari has sensitive data on a black-market "replicant" ring operating out of a local genetics clinic. The clinic, run by a rival corporation (or an independent criminal org, the "Octopus" is a classic enemy), wants the data back and will use various means to stop them: street muscle, corporate spies, and a final confrontation at the clinic's data-wipe server.
System Notes
The Zaibatsu RPG uses a 2d6 system based on the Cepheus Engine rules.
  • Stat checks: Roll 2d6, aim for half the relevant Stat + 2d6, total 10 or better (GM discretion on Difficulty Modifier).
  • Skill checks: Roll 2d6, aim for 8 or better (Skill level adds a bonus to the roll).
  • Combat: Fights are fast and deadly. Attacks are resolved in phases: Melee first, then Ranged, then Movement. Damage can inflict Stuns or Wounds.
Key Characters
The Bodyguard (PC Template)
  • Concept: Corporate Security Solo / Street Samurai
  • Stats: Strength 10, Dexterity 12, Constitution 11, Intelligence 10, Awareness 12, Willpower 11, Charisma 8
  • Skills (select from): Combat (any) +1, Stealth +1, Drive +1, Counter-Security +1, Awareness +1, Tactics +1
  • Gear: Heavy Pistol (2d Damage), Kevlar Vest (counts as Subdermal Armour in some cases), secure comm unit, 4,000 Yen.
  • Retrogenics (Optional): Subdermal Body Armour (20 points, treat as kevlar vest in HP terms), High Pain Threshold (ignore wound penalties).
  • Motivation: The paycheck is good, but the bodyguard might also have a personal code of honor (Bushido 2.0) or simply a desire to keep this kid alive.
The Charge: Akari Tanaka (NPC)
  • Concept: Biotech Researcher, Naive but Headstrong
  • Stats: Strength 6, Dexterity 8, Constitution 7, Intelligence 14, Awareness 10, Willpower 12, Charisma 11
  • Skills: Science +2, Computer +1, Research +2, Etiquette (Corporate) +1
  • Gear: Data Chip (encrypted), personal comm unit, lab coat.
  • Motivation: Expose the illegal and unethical use of memory-less clones (replicants) by her former employer. She may be willing to take risks that put the PCs in danger.
The Adventure
Part 1: The Meet and the Ambush
The adventure begins at a neutral drop point, a crowded noodle bar in the lower Tokyo sprawl.
  1. The Handover: The PCs meet Akari. She's nervous, twitchy, and constantly checking her surroundings (Awareness 10). She has the data chip.
  2. The Hitters: As the PCs exit the bar, a "boostergang" (likely paid off by the clinic) attempts a drive-by on a motorbike.
    • Enemies: 2 gang members on a speeder bike (Strength 8, Dexterity 10, Skills: Drive+1, Pistol+1; armed with Light Pistols, 1d Damage).
    • Challenge: The PCs must protect Akari while taking down the gang members. This is a fast, urban combat scenario, with plenty of cover (market stalls, overflowing dumpsters, etc.). A failed Awareness check might mean the PCs are caught off guard.
Part 2: The Data Trail
After the firefight, the PCs need to get the data to a secure terminal. The original drop point is compromised.
  1. Alternative Routes: The main roads are blocked due to the incident. The PCs must use their Drive or Stealth skills to navigate side streets and maintenance tunnels.
  2. Hacking the Network: Akari suggests a public data-fax machine in a nearby convenience store to upload a location change to their Daiyon contact.
    • Challenge: When attempting to connect to the network, a corporate 'decker' attempts to trace them. A PC with Computer or Counter-Security skills can engage in a quick cyberspace battle (using the Zaibatsu's card-based hacking rules).
Part 3: Clinic Zero
The PCs reach the secondary drop point: an abandoned genetic modification clinic. It is not abandoned.
  1. Security Measures: The clinic is guarded by a single security drone (see stats below) and several locked doors (Counter-Security checks to breach). Akari might be able to provide the access code if the PC makes a successful Charisma or Willpower check to keep her calm and focused.
  2. The Confrontation: The head of the replicant program, Dr. Hiroshi, confronts the party. He is desperate and possibly injected with a combat drug like Speedball.
    • Enemy: Dr. Hiroshi (Intelligence 13, Strength 9, armed with a hidden dart gun loaded with Virax-B tranquilizer) and a Security Drone.
    • Dr. Hiroshi Stats: Strength 9, Dexterity 9, Constitution 8, Intelligence 13, Awareness 11, Willpower 10, Charisma 7. Skills: Science +2, Computer +1, Pistol +1.
    • Security Drone Stats: 20 HP (does not use damage table). Equipped with a Smartgun (2d Damage). The PC needs to roll a 5 or 6 to damage it with small arms. It has an Autoarm (attacks as skill 7-, 2 Stuns damage).
  3. Resolution: The PCs defeat Hiroshi and the drone and successfully upload the data, securing the payment and ensuring Akari's safety (for now). The repercussions from the Daiyon Zaibatsu (and their rivals) promise future adventures.

Hostile/Zaibatsu Rpg Hybrid Campaign -The Silent City -

This session picks up from DM Paul's Highwayman campaign from July of 2024. The PC's were called in to test a strange alien gateway device that had been found on Europa.
So tonight I was fooling around with my players using the Hostile/Zaibaitsu rpg rules and dropped a group of Blackguard mercenaries into an alien city called The Silent City. This was a one shot adventure in the middle of a campaign  that dropped the PC's right into the thick of it. The party had armor, plenty of ammo, and equipment to find alien artifacts and get out.

The Silent City is an other dimensional city of eternal night where there are lights and power but zero inhabitants at least those you can see. There are strange energy or spirit creatures. The biggest hazard!?! The other party or gang of adventurers and did I mention that the place was booby trapped with odd alien technology. And ten minutes in we had one of our players die by a strange antimatter artifact. He winked outta of existence failing a skill roll while wanting to activate it.
The party's psi scout detected life in one of the buildings and almost got her head eaten by an alien bug. Did I mention that the bug was seven foot tall and covered in bio mechanical armor?!

Two of  the party manage to find a strange weapon or tool and stashed it into one of their bags. The second thing that they found was a metal ring on it which turned out had the cure for cancer on it.
The party explored two thirds of alien city and then they ran into a matter transmitter that sent them down into an underground location. Things got interesting as they began to explore this location. And then the party was teleported back into the alien city.

Ceres Contraband -- The Long Shadow of The Zaibatsu rpg by Paul Elliot From Zozer Games Session One

'You have one hundred years removed from your sentences', the chirpy robot's voice echoes through the former luxury appartment on the Mexico/Texas border 'Free Enterprise Zone'. The warehouse was completely checked out by our cybersneaks. This session picks up with our heroes deep in the clutches of the cartels. Last time we were shown the contraband from Ceres. This session picks up from here on the blog.

Our heroes planted two homers for the corporate forces to come in. And do some clean up after they met two of the heads of the local snake heads.

There are other warehouses within the city & we haven't found them.. yet. The party was able to get outta of there with mininum fuss. There's a ton of officers and soldiers of the cartels.
They were heavily armed but why?! Sure there's the contraband but then we saw them. A Ceres slicer queen was held within a biological specimen holding cell. These horrors were found on ruins on Ceres 14 years ago during the first recession. They wiped out the entire expediation. The general population of Earth is unaware of the alien species. The corporations are aware of them. These slicers secrete a highly addictive hormone to attractive prey animals for baby's first meal. These horrors should not be on Earth! They're outlawed on every nation on Earth.
Our party planted miro explosives all over the ware house to have the corporate forces do clean up. Our cybersneaks warned us about the bigger bosses of the cartels coming in. This might meet that we've had our cover blown! Fortunately we bluffed our way out just as the cartel bosses came in. And then the explosives were triggered.
Our next task is to locate those other warehouses and then do a deep dive into the other tendrils of the cartel. We regrouped back at our apartment.

OSR Commentary - The Long Shadow of The Zaibatsu rpg by Paul Elliot From Zozer Games Session One

The PC's are called into the 'Free Enterprise' zones on the Texas/Mexico border on Earth. The PC's have been placed within the sphere of the snake heads and the cartels of this disputed regiion. The PC's are agents acting for the corporation.

The PC's are positioned to look over any contraband that comes through   the 'Free Enterprise' zones on the Texas/Mexico border. This session picks right up from here on the blog.
I had the PC's mix it up with some cartel soldiers and thugs from rival houses. They earned the ire of the rival houses after making life difficult for the PC's.
Corporate assets swooped in and cleaned up after the PC's. The party started back traking the rival house's warehouses and assets.
The party had 20 years knocked off of thier sentences and had to check in with thier robotic parol officier.
Then it was back into the grind as a local snake head rival met with the PC's about a new shipment of contraband coming into the local space center. We secured a meeting for that night.

The warehouse shuttles came in. And we were meeting with a local representive to secure a buying position.
We wanted to examine the merchandise before we put down any money into this.
This wasn't our cash but the nano bombs in our brains were itching.
We got to  the warehouse sector and things looked normal. We had weapons stowed in our ride. We had sidearms on us and began the meeting with two vat grown clone warriors. They were grown muscle for the cartels..
We were escorted through two strange and alien drug factories. Inside two longer warehouse spaces we found eighteen rows of strange egglike plants.
The last time our player's PC's saw something like this was wayout on the Outer void. These egg like plants give off a strange blue white liquid drug. We had our cybersneaks trailing our every move and building up a profile of this smuggling operation. We ended here.

OSR Commentary - The Long Shadow of The Zaibatsu rpg by Paul Elliot From Zozer Games

"As the street soldiers of the world’s most powerful corporations (the Japanese zaibatsu) you become expendable and deniable employees fighting for profits, power and your lives. You’ve been recruited from the dark and murky Japanese underworld to carry out illegal terrorist activities on behalf of that employer and have one foot in the stylish corporate-minded boardrooms of the zaibatsu, and one foot in the filth and squalor of the criminal underworld."

The Zaibatsu rpg by Paul Elliot remains one of my all time favorite's by Zozer game. This is a game that springs deep into the Cyberpunk genre & it all dives into the world of the Hostile rpg. The Hostile rpg has a ton of snakeheads and gangs that surround this criminal underworld.  This criminal underworld is rife with unscuplious character. The PC's are totally the street scum and criminal elements. The PC's are working for the very corporations that they are making war & combat on.

Why?! Because of the fact that the PC's are prisoners who have to give back to the corporate society. They are sent on missions by thier corporate sponsors. This way they get so many years off thier sentences. If this sounds like the classic Cyber City Oedo 808 anime? That's because it's because that anime is such a classic to our players and family. This was a classic anime element that we added into our own Zaibatsu rpg campaign.
Many of the elements here are excellent because they connect right back into the Earth of 2225. Zaibatsu is perfectly aligned with the burnt out husk that is Earth.

The PC's could find themselves on the border between Texas and the rest of the states dealing with the cartels for the corporations. Then moved into the slums of Tokyo and the underbelly of Japan's criminal underworld. Because the party are agents of the corporations there's lots of flexibility to a Zaibatsu.
And the enterprise zones are begging for agents and mercs to help them take control. There's plenty of work for agents and mercenaries who work for the corporations. And this is where are players come in and thier rather desparate PC's. The fact that they work for the very people that they hate is both iconic and very dangerous. They may find themselves hunting the very people that they once called friend.

Zaibatsu/ Hostile Rpg Campaign -The Highwayman Murder! Session Report

"There is a world, just beyond now, where reality runs a razor-thin seam between fact and possibility; where the laws of the present collide with the crimes of tomorrow. Patrolling these vast outlands is a new breed of lawman, guarding the fringes of society’s frontiers, they are known simply as ‘Highwaymen’... and this is their story.."
The party is on route to 'Dust Bowl Arizona' on thier way under a contract to help Dwayne Desmond a Highwayman whose investigation comes from a cargo from Cyclops.
The radioactive cargo has sickened two different towns Desmond went missing. Because the United States Police Force has been so stretched thin. They've called in the PC's 'the September Group'.

'Dust Bowl' has a corporate cop shop handling it's security & small town infrastructure. The Dust Bowl police have impounded Dwayne's truck & have been holding him in a specially designed jail cell set up originally by a minor corporation that pulled out. 'Dust Bowl' police are blaming Dwayne for the deaths.
The Highwaymen are the last gasp of the federal marshal program which has been absorbed by the United States Police force. The Highwaymen organization has been updated with corporate weaponry, equipment, and special vehicles. They operate as federal agents, inspectors, agents, and special cargo specialists.
We got to Dust Bowl & ran smack into 'The Devil's Forsaken' gang who were convinced that Dwayne was a clone!

We were allowed to see Dwayne & busted him out of the special cell only to have him turn on our party! He managed to kill two of our number before the 'Devil's Forsaken agents took him out! Dwayne actually was a renagade clone who had murdered the real Dwayne two months ago! A code read of the clone's pupils proved it!
We went to the secondary objective which was the truck and the cargo. 'Dust Bowl's police wanted to keep it. Our Federal contract had the vehicle as the secondary objective. We checked the cargo and it was not radioactive! However there was radioactive generator that had been placed aboard!
Before shooting commenced we satdown with the corporate cops and showed them our contract. Truck & cargo secured! We headed out! We're a hundred miles outside of Dust Bowl and then we get attacked by two Rhinos!
This is where we ended on a cliff hanger by DM Paul!
Notes - This entire game was based on Eighties cultclassic NBC tv show 'The Highwayman' & we took the entire concept and dropped it into our Zabibatsu/Hostile rpg campaign.

We can remember It For You Whole Sale - With Zozer Games Hostile & Zaibatsu rpg's

Let's pick up the Zaibatsu rpg with our last blog entry here . If memory implants & personality implants could shift a person't entire life and reality?! Could you trust that who you are is really who you are? This is the question that my players are wrestling with.
What if the a crack clone & replicant hunting group of NPC's called the Devil's Forsaken are not at all what they seem?!

After introducing Zozer Games's  the HOSTILE Situation Report 012 - The Mine .I've got the players questioning if thier characters are actually themselves or clones who have been mind raped into thinking that thier the genuine article. This happened after the party stumbled into a genetics labatory that they weren't meant to see.
And then the Devil's Forsaken went after them as clones! And this could be the reality as the PC's are under this assumption that the party is from another universe and they've taken over this universe's Semptember Group. Or is this actually all an elaborate charade by thier cruel corporate overlords!?

Or is it really the Devil's Forsaken who are the not ex ganger but instead cheap clones who have been given complete mind make overs?! With the clones being used to test and improve the latest batches of combat androids?! The players are pissed but I've got them wrapped up in this false reality or is it?!
Are the ganger's pasts merely VR simulations and false memories of a Toyako that no longer exists?!
This is no longer street and corporate conspiracy theory to the player's PC's but reality. A false reality where there are shape shifting androids monitoring the progress of thier products?!

Clone Hunting and Android Genocide - With Zozer Games Hostile & Zaibatsu rpg's

Zaibatsu Rpg is one of my go to urban 2d6 games to cover city encounters & night missions. This game covers urban sprawl quite nicely. And I've been working on a crack clone & replicant hunting group of NPC's called the Devil's Forsaken. A veteran gang turned clone & bounty hunters who may or may not be what they seem.

Who gives a crap right?! Well, I do after reading through the HOSTILE Situation Report 012 - The Mine. Which is exactly the sort of an outworld mission that such clone hunters were designed for; "The wealthy owner of Thalon corporation is desperate to find his missing daughter, Miri. He calls you in for help; a Thalon rep on the mining colony of Telluride thinks he spotted a clone worker that closely resembles Miri. What's going on? Get out there incognito - and find out...

But there are forces on Telluride who will stop at nothing to prevent the investigators finding out the truth. Be careful who you trust. "

I'm going to introduce these guys in Tokyo as android and clone hunters using the Zaibatsu rules & weaponry.  The Devil's Forsaken are going to be antagonists and a major pain in my player's PC's behinds. There were hints going back to a mission that the players completed with Zozer Games Earth book.
Earth has a problem with the fact that Hostile relies on android & clone workers to act as special biological combat & super soldiers. And it depends on the craziness of the hunters to go after the biggest game.
Seldom talked about is the type of biological arms race that would result as soon as bioroid and clones came into being.
We get the barest hint of this in the original Bladerunner film. The Nexus Six replicants are only the latest batch of combat androids.
We know that the Bladerunners are those who hunt down such androids. What of the independant contractors and mercenaries. And this is where I loop around to Zaibatsu because only ex gansters and gangers are going to be crazy enough to go after the money that corporate is paying to go after androids, clones, and replicants.
Here's a thought though. What if the corporations are forstering the type of an atmosphere where clone bounty hunting is legal. Why? To product test thier latest combat androids and replicants.
Of course in the world of Hostile and Zaibatsu this is all merely street & corporate conspiracy theory even though there are those in the know who have proved it!

Chickens In The Dark - A Zaibatsu/Hostile Mini Campaign On Colony World - Tau Ceti

The Mendoza cartel's operations along the Chinese game trails on  Tau Ceti got a big bang from the September group's demotition work. The September Group then mopped up any remaining forces. We began pushing deeper into thier operations. The Mendoza's Cartel has set up with the Chinese black market forces and these run deep on Tau Ceti.

This follows on the heels of our mission from May 19th's Hostile game session. Here we're playing different PC's with a revenge operation on our plate. The biggest problem was the fact that DM Paul had inserted a sniper with a spotter in the jungle surrounding the Chinese black market forces. Since we were connected with the American forces on Tau Ceti this was an off the books operation. Eventually we got the sniper & spotter. And then blew the entire camp and base off the map.
We then went on a shopping trip to the black market in American side  & bought new weaponry from the Dirty Wars Supplement

We commuicated with our Japanese contacts as we dined on Devil Cow steaks and fries on the American side planning our next move. We knew that there were supply lines along the Chines controlled corridor and while we had shut down Chinese black market operations for a time. We need them crippled & we contacted our TLA embedded agents. Things we grim on the TLA's side as we had pinched off arms to the resistence and the Chines were not happy with the situation.
We needed more intel on the Mendoza Cartels ties to the American and Chinese corporations. We sent in two of our assassins to gather intel in the Chinese capital. More to come!

Cartel Genocide - A Zaibatsu/Hostile Mini Campaign On Colony World - Earth - Hostile Situation Report #010 Street Scum

So in tonight's Hostile rpg game, we're still dealing with the fall out from Zozer Games's Street Scum - Situation Report 010 & the taking in of our Fixer Thackery. Whom we saved serveral sessions ago & put on our Russian mercenary unit known as the September Group's payroll. We ended up destroying 'The Vendetta' because of certain unsavory practices that Sentyabr'skaya gruppa aka the September group wasn't having. The Blood Eagles the rivals to the Vendetta took it personally and this led to a blood feud that has bloodied the streets of Neo Houston. Tonight's session follows events from back in December 10th of

And tonight more nasitness as the Blood Eagle's Mendoza Cartel bosses decided that enough was enough! They sent four homemade tank dreadnaughts against our group. This was a huge mistake as the dreadnaughts are equipped with two flame throwers which took out the gate guards at our head quarters. This ended up having the party declare war on the Mendoza Cartel after the homemade tanks were destroyed with shaped charge booby traps.
We were not amused at the thought of being attacked in our own house even though technically the party isn't originally from this universe. We took the place of the September group of this universe by taking over thier old headquarters after the originals were killed. We contacted the US police forces and had our hackers dig into thier data bases with our internal contacts. Then we hit the Mendoza Cartel's operations within Neo Huston with raids and slaughtered all of the cartels personel within Neo Houston.
We then brought several of our assets who have been operating outside on assignments back in house to boost the ranks. We then went on a shopping trip to the black market in Dallas & bought new weaponry from the Dirty Wars Supplement

Our blackmarket contacts in Dallas got very nervous because of the amount of weaponry & ammo we picked up. They wanted to know if a gang war was going to happen in Neo Houston?!
We simply growled, "Could they get bigger guns?!" And then informed them that they might want to abandoned any operations within Neo Houston. At the stroke of  midnight, the entire headquarters of the
the Mendoza Cartel in Neo Houston disappeared in a puff of smoke as an orbital sat weapon took it out. We also took out  the Mendoza Cartel's operations out on Abyss & Tau Ceti!

Don't Lose Your Head - Adapting Jospeh Mohr's Redemption Adventure to the Hostile Rpg

"The Traveler(s) are summoned by messenger to speak with a discrete gentleman on a matter of utmost importance. He would prefer, for reasons which will become apparent later, to speak privately on this matter at the earliest convenience."

"He is Navy Commander Hut’Nur of the Olonsean Naval Intelligence Service. He has a mission of a delicate nature which he needs someone of your unique skills. He needs someone not affiliated with the Olonsean government or military to perform a rescue operation."

"While the Olonseans are not yet currently at war with the Ilsunsi Directorate just about everyone in the Sonora sector can see the handwriting on the wall. Hostilities are imminent. Both sides have been building up naval and land forces with the expectation of an all out shooting war beginning soon."

"Recently an Olonsean Army General disappeared. Whether he has defected, or has been snatched by the Ilsunsi, is not yet known. What is known, however, is that he has extensive knowledge of Olonsean military capabilities and plans. He is a decorated veteran of many previous military campaigns and is believed to be loyal to the Empire. But the Olonsean Government can not afford to take chances. They need this General to be “rescued” and brought back home again....for interrogation...."

So over the last twenty four hours I've been thinking about dealing with Hostile's Colony War  title. Back during the Second Recession there were two successful colonies The Olonseans and the Ilsuni Directorate colonies. These colonies are now at now at each other's throats because of recent events on Tau Ceti. Because of the growing tensions in the Solomons colony interests are heating up. This is where Redemption by Joseph Mohr comes into play.  The Olonseans are backed by Chinese corporate money which is the same as backing it with Chinese military assets. The PC's are going to be an extration team made up of some of the worst scum that the South Asain Orbital Prisons have to offer. The Ilsuni Directorate is of course a puppet colony with Tharis Heavy Industries at the wheel.

The prisoner's will be doing the extraction with a nanoneural bomb implanted in thier necks. Failure will result in a head parting company with it's neck if the mission isn't done in seventy two hours. The PC's are of course from  Zaibatsu and in the survivors will be taken into the September group of Russian mercenaries aka the Сентябрьская группа.

According to Redemption; "Olonsean intelligence forces have determined that he is being held on world known as Gumoran which is just beyond the borders of the Sonora sector. This world is a sparsely populated agricultural world off the beaten path. It has always been an independent world but many affluent individuals in the sector own large estates on this world. It generally has been considered sort of a retreat for the rich and famous of the sector who want to get away from it all. The general is believed to be held at an estate of a wealthy corporate officer of the Purgatory Corporation. This estate is believed to be guarded by at least a company of soldiers if not more. The Olonsean government does not wish to start the war just yet. They would prefer someone not linked to them to perform this mission and bring the general home."
The PC's are going to go into cold storage for the voyage to Gumoran for 6 years. And then the countdown picks up right from when thier thawed out. Gumoran is a corporate retreat world with connections to the Purgatory corporation. The Purgatory corporation is going to be a secondary side quest with them taping and selling information gleaned from the dreams of thier clients and then being sold on. The information is being stored in the cyberspace cloud of Gumoran. Meanwhile the general is being bled by the Purgatory corporation and it's taken it's toil;" The general is no longer in his right state of mind. The torture and abuse at the hands of the Ilsunsi have brought him to the breaking point."
The
Olonsean government wants to brain wipe him and then reprogram him as a double agent before turning him back to  the Ilsuni Directorate. The Olonseans & the Isuni Directorate colonies have been dancing around each other for the past 9 years.

Merry Christmas Massacre! - Blood Eagle Gang Secrets - On The Streets - A Zaibatsu/Hostile Mini Campaign On Colony World - Earth - Hostile Situation Report #010 Street Scum

One of the big questions for the PC's has been whose bank rolling the Blood Eagles gang. The gang took over a town last session. Victory Downs has some stragetic importance to the gang from last sesssion on the blog here.
And this is because the abandoned town of Merry Christmas Texas was smack dab under the FTL hyperspace crash of the USS Atlas  that claimed the lives of one hundred and two people who completely disappeared in a cloud of nothingness. The town was originally a space craft savalage and repair facility. Now it's abandoned among rumors that it's haunted.

Merry Christmas Texas is also the dumping ground for the local crime lords & Yammoto Najurai an exacutive for the Matsuyama conglomerate is bank rolling some of this with corporate funds. Any dead human, animal, etc biological materials disappear. Metal of any kind is untouched and there are vast haunted graveyards of unrusting wrecked space craft hulls. The hyperdrive of the Atlas is still spilling it's hyperspacial signature out into the Merry Christmas valley basin.
The Blood Eagles lured several of the September group's scouts into the basin with tails of an unknown R&D facility where
the PharmaSynthesiser technology is being researched.
Our adventurers got to the edge of the valley just as thier hacker broke into the data base of the Blood Eagles. And found the Warpstone report leaked by
the Matsuyama conglomerate to the Blood Eagles. It was already too late! The Blood Eagles got into a fire fight with the September group's scouts forcing them deep into the valley of Merry Christmas. And that's when the hyperspacial things attacked! They took one scout so quickly that neither group had time to react!

The hyperspatial entities are all that's left of the crew and the inhabitants of Merry Christmas. The Blood Eagles gang lost three of thier own to the alien entities only puncuated by thier screaming and the ganger's dying screams. Now the Blood Eagles didn't wait around for thier comrades and left them to thier fate. Now the three September Group scouts and thier Blood Eagle enemies are left to the tender mercies of the alien horrors that haunt Merry Christmas valley!!
We were using a combination Zaibatsu/Hostile which is why the melee works very quickly. The hyperspatial entities are similar but not quite the same as those from the Warpstone adventure within The Solomons. These entities within Merry Christmas are far more bloodthirsty!

Blood On The Streets - A Zaibatsu/Hostile Mini Campaign On Colony World - Earth - Hostile Situation Report #010 Street Scum -- The Company Town Session Report

In tonight's game the player's PC's ran across Universal Corporation's Challenge Downs company town. The USS Challenge went down and has a malfunctioning hyperdrive just outside of the mining town. The Victory changed the local uranium depoisit to Zeta B a high yield drive fuel. The problem is that the town is bombarded by the strange radiations of the Victory's reactor system.

The PC's were wondering why the Blood Eagles were leaving this corporate town alone. They decided to spend time in Victory Downs but began noticing odd things such as the stores selling cans labelled meat, food, etc. After a while one or more of the party began to feel sick. And then looked around for reasons why. And found out the whole town was being bathed in radiation. Further searches of Victory Downs found that there was a synthetic processing and manufacturing plant under the town! Universal Corporation has populated the town with the perfect Synethic workers immune to the radiation of the malfunctioning hyperdrive system.
Everything was going well until the Blood Eagles showed up and 'killed' the mayor. They couldn't stay at Victory Downs so instead they want to install a combat android from the Nexus 16 batch. The September group backed off outta of town. And we're working on a way to get back into town now.

Blood On The Streets - A Zaibatsu/Hostile Mini Campaign On Colony World - Earth - Hostile Situation Report #010 Street Scum

 "010 Street Scum

Earth 2225. The big city. The corporation has a job for you - you do all of its dirty, secret jobs. Well they've got another one for you. There's a gang called Vendetta on the streets, its hostile and violent, and just the kind of group this megacorporation could use for a new project in the city.

Getting close to the gang will be hard. Getting out alive will be even harder ..."  I just got this situation report from Paul Elliot the author/designer of Hostile. And this situation report is being put to good use as we speak.
The Blood Eagle gang has gotten thier hands on the Roddy android on some lone desert highway just outside of New Houston. The Blood Eagles is holding the Roddy unit and things are not going to go good for them. The Texas AM corporation wants to use the Vendetta gang as a disposible strong arm army.
The September group are brought in by the Texas AM corporation. The AM corporation
job's is to recruit the Vendetta gang by any means. For bribery and other costs, they will have a spending budget of $100,000. Gangs may not be amenable to just being ‘bought off’ however – they have codes of honour that may require a little more coercion… The company provides a lead for you … a chunin (middleman or street fixer) called Thackery, who deals with the corporations, and who is well known to the criminal fraternity here in the city."
Everything in Houston and New Houston are being set up for a blood bath. The Blood Eagles and The Vendetta are being set up for violence by the Houston AM coroporation but why?!
Hostile Situation Report #010 Street Scum is interesting because it places two intercity gangs that are being manupulated by corporate corruption and interests. There's a beat here with the gangs becoming possible tools or echoes of violence within a campaign. There's a definitely Mad Max feel to  the Zozer Games Earth worldbook.
Hostile Situation Report #010 Street Scum plugs right into that flavor. Are my players going to go for this?! They've made some very questionable decisions about this in the past. Can the player's PCs survive the Street Scum?!

Murder and Mayhem -- A Zaibatsu/Hostile Mini Campaign On Colony World - Earth Session Report - The Roddy Unit Goes Rogue! - Session Report 10

This little session report comes on the heels of last weeks South of the border fiasco Nikita Crusca weapons expert is in our infirmery. And being guarded against any unforseen occurances.

Today coming back from breakfast at our favorite diner. The group of players needed some extra cash to trick out thier new lair in Houston. So they decided to do a bit of bounty hunting to get some extra coin. They checked in with some of the old group's contacts & found a bounty on a soldier clone named Max Reed. Reed is a bioroid with some heavy duty skills working for the Clone Underground & has been doing supply runs to a combat drug operation down in Mexico.
The September group contracted out with a shadow bank who wants several of thier assets back after Max had murdered the family of a local mafia Don and took over his operations. The contract was for a termination and asset recover.

Our plan was simple take out the Clone Underground facility that is masquerading as bandits where Max is making the supply runs too. We did that and collected several bounties from there and then secured the facility. Things went a bit South when the bandits that were using the base came back. We fragged them and then moved on.
Max came in hard and fast, but he came in with other forces! So needless to say after a protacted fire fight we secured the bank's assets ( helicopter, planes, etc). and then secured the bandit's base as well as the drug factory. From here we blew Max Reed to kingdom come. Yes we're not the good guys. Something was bothering us. Who had alerted Max?!
We've got the partially disassembled Roddy Android unit at our base at Houstan. We returned to find that the thing has escaped into the Texas desert after reassembling itself and murdering two of our NPC hirelings! He also warned Max Reed about us. My players want him badly.

Now the Roddy unit is out in this new Earth with a head full of technologies and techniques unknown to several of the mega corporations. And the bastard seems to have several systems we didn't detect. He's a slippy android and very dangerous.

Two of our number are going after the android and we think we know where he might be headed?! And that's near what used to be Hong Kong. So we've got two of our trackers on him. We think he's going to try to hook up with the Chinese Mafia.
