"There have been times when only a hair's-breadth has intervened betwixt myself and the seething devil-ridden world of madness; for the hideous knowledge, the horror- blackened memories which I have carried so long, were never meant to be borne by the human intellect. "
— Clark Ashton Smith
The violation worm threads its way through the 5th & 6th dimension realms of  the Outer Darkness of hyperspace latching onto the undercarriage of space vessels. The creature is attracted to the hyperspace wake of passing ships. The creature worries its way through a ships screens using interphasic planar negative energy. Since the creature isn't at all a part of any reality. It latches onto the reality matrix of  any being happening by. Slowly it extends its proboscis into the soul marrow of the victim. Its not noticed at first accept for that small tickle in your mind telling you that something is very wrong.
Great Floating Drowners,Tearing Offspring,Legendary Worm Children, just some of the titles that victims have reported hearing in their minds as the "children thread a cocoon within the inner chakra of the soul. Only super science can remove these things as they they remain behind to guard their off spring before they are born in 2 "days"

Roy Batty: I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die. Blade Runner movie
Built on the frames of many ships left over from the first Regulan War. The TACC (Tactical,Attack, & Close Combat) crafts were one of the very best ships built during the war & many pirates exploit this frame for a wide variety of uses. The profile for the one listed here is a hyperspace scout often sent ahead of the main pirate fleet.
The postronic brain is directly linked with the sensors within the nose cone that makes peeks into nearby systems allowing psychic pilots to pick targets out before being detected. They then inform the fleet while sitting from concealment within hyperspace.
The weaponry is designed for a dual attack & defense role. The z ray turret may bloody the nose of  a larger vessel while the rocket launcher may scramble the sensors of  choose targets such as a luxury ship. Finally the  torpedo launcher is used to take down the electronics of  such targets.
The downside of  vehicles such as this is both the custom nature of the ships which are hand built & the hyper drive systems which must have parts replaced after 5 jumps. The electronics can be bypassed with a suitable alien robotic brain but these are few & far between in the frontier world. At a cost of 20,000 credits these ships are often a cheap alternative to a full pirate vessel when several such fighters fill the role of fire support nicely. Sold in many black market bazaars these make a great gift for that pirate in your life!

  1. Sometimes it makes me smile, but this time I laughed, and I still am laughing. I admire the imagination too. That worm is just clever. You're really good at this.
