Stars Without Number -The Highway Men - The "Chasm Job"

For the past month or so my players have been taking their time inside the Allard Electronics space station. The crew has had their ship redesigned, sold of off " treasure", acquired contacts, and become wheelers and dealers within the Spacer" community aboard the station.
The PC's were invited to a meeting with a group of Space Viking clans and the Representative of the Sparphardin race.

The "Watcher" revealed that a fleet of  "Battle Pyramids" belonging to Apex Medical  had been destroyed by something. Something very nasty and dangerous. All Apex equipment was sitting in the yawning abyss of the "Chasm" including a complete load of Duralloy.
Suddenly the head of the Ice Walker Tribe lays claim to the wreckage with the Sarphardin Representative. One of the PC's gets involved claiming to be the counsel for the Sarphardin. This of course amused the Watchers to no end. The other clan members backed the PC's and there was moment of heated stand off between those present.
The PC's are now on a race to get to the "Chasm" where something ancient, evil, and far more dangerous the "Apex Medicial" awaits them.

Where Things Came From

  1. The Sarphardin are from SpellJammer and have been adapted into my SWN Talon Sector campaign.
  2. The Space Vikings are of course from the H.Beam Piper novel of the same name right over HERE
  3. My friend Garrison Jones did an excellent overview of H.Beam Piper and I'm glad to say that he's back among the OSR bloggers!  You can find his excellent article HERE

  1. Space Viking is one of my favorite sci-fi books. It's a classic that should be up there with Starship Troopers, Dune and the Foundation series.
