So once again I find myself raiding the Unofficial Canon Project Marvel Super Heroes Rpg archives & came across MA15 The Unofficial Canon Project Marvel Super Heroes Rpg Heroes of The North. So why is this an important sourcebook? Because if your a DM or player who uses Alpha Flight then according to the author; "So why the sourcebook?
There were a couple of different reasons, the first was that I always thought there was enough material in the Alpha Flight lore, despite various volumes, to make up a sourcebook: Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Omega Flights, Department H and K, the Weapon X project, the Great Beasts, the Inuit gods, Caliber, and countless others. These characters have a rich history and one that deserves to be told in a decent format. John Byrne, despite not caring much for the characters or even really wanting the job, tapped into something with the characters that drew fans to them. Secondly, George Henson and I talked about working on this together, but life got in the way, and he had to bow out...So I figured I would do what I could to carry it across the finish line. Lastly...Because we need one. We have one for the X-Men, Avengers and Fantastic Four...why not Alpha Flight?' MA15 The Unofficial Canon Project Marvel Super Heroes Rpg Heroes of The North book is a solid 191 pages of wall to wall Canadian heroes, villains, NPC's, equipment, and even the lairs of the various flights!
MA15 The Unofficial Canon Project Marvel Super Heroes Rpg Heroes of The North does an excellent job of breaking down just about everything about the background, history, etc. of the various teams. This includes some of the secrets of Department H&K, the shadowy & spooky governemental organizations responsible for the creation of the Weapon X programs, Wolverine, and much more. MA15 The Unofficial Canon Project Marvel Super Heroes Rpg Heroes of The North goes down the long rabbit hole of some solid information on the various incarnations of the characters of Alpha, Beta, & Gamma Flight. This includes some of the obscure ones as well!
MA15 The Unofficial Canon Project Marvel Super Heroes Rpg Heroes of The North is pretty much a must for any Marvel child of the Eighties who loves the Flights! Seriously there is a ton of info in this book & it's not afraid to go into some massive amounts of details about the darker & more sinister terrority of Alpha Flight's comic runs.
