With some of the wicked weather we've been getting in Ct. I've been keeping myself busy by updating my movie catche . Here's a quick 70's and 80's overview for some of my favorite movie influences for space based OSR games.
Here are five quick choices off the top of my head.

Enemy Mine
Battle Star Galactica
I'd have to watch Enemy Mine again to consider it for an "inspiration" list. For space opera I'd probably put Battle Beyond the Stars, even Star Crash ahead of it. More crazy encounters for EXP ;)
ReplyDeleteGiven the 'Gyaxian' ecology of the planet in Alien Mine I'd say there are enough encounters planet side from the movie to keep any group busy for a few months.
