Devastation Drive-In - A Quick Review

Devastation Drive-In is 56 pages long, featuring 21 creatures from some truly horrific films including: Blood Beast, Blood Freak, It's Alive, Octoman, Prophecy, Robot Monster, The Astro-Zombies, Uninvited, and two of my personal favorites, The Stuff and The Incredible Melting Man. The download is free and full of info on these films as well as Mutant Future conversions for each monstrosity.
I used to live around the corner in Boston from an old theater that used to show really awful movies on the weekends. This was the sort of place where your feet stuck to the floor from the stuff that was there. I knew the projectionist pretty well. They showed all of these movies on the weekends in the 90s for 2.00 a show on the weekends for folks. Anyhow the theater is long since gone. The memories remain however. This is a homage to those bad movies adapted to Mutant Future!
I know each & everyone of these movies by heart & I'm proud to say I've seen them at least 2 if not more.
This is more then simply a trip down memory lane this is a lovingly crafted homage to those movies!

Each Creature gets its own illustration

I've gone over the entire pdf & its awesome. There are adventure hooks for each monster, the conditions surrounding the creatures, & a good overview of using the creatures.
Many of these creatures could be adapted to other games with little problems. Dungeons might have Stuff cultists in it as well as orcs & goblins.
The pdf's biggest strength I think comes from the amount of loving details that the author has put into the work. These are monsters when movies were bold & original not like the bland rehashes you get today!
The pdf is 57 pages of some of the best work I've seen for Mutant Future!
You can download this pdf right Here!
This supplement is free & I have to thank Sniderman for turning me on to it! His awesome blog is Here
While your there check out some of the other great post apocalyptic awesomeness

  1. Wow. I'm almost speechless here.

Thank you VERY much! I am truly blown away by how well-received this project has been.

It really was a labor of love, as I have great affection for trashy ol' monster flicks. And it's rare for me to meet people who've actually seen, well, any of the movies I statted out. I'm used to just blank stares and eye-rolls. :)

Again, thank you so very much for the kind words. I hope you stick around on the blog, as I'm always posting new monsters...

...and, in keeping with the genre, I'm already hard at work on next year's sequel!

  2. I plan on sticking around as it was. I do actually watch & read your blog. Mutant Future is one of those games which allows me to enjoy the type of game playing I love without Wizbros being over my shoulder.
I go to the movies to be entertained & since I still own a VCR you can bet your bottom dollar their still being watched. B
BTW the warp wolves are also cool!
