OSR Commentary On Angry Golem Games Stars Without Number Equipment Database For The Stars Without Number Rpg

"If you are a fan of sci-fi roleplaying games, you might have heard of Stars Without Number, a game that combines the best elements of classic and modern sci-fi. Stars Without Number is a game that lets you explore a vast and diverse galaxy, where you can encounter alien races, ancient ruins, psychic powers, and pretech wonders. But what makes Stars Without Number even more exciting is its sci-fi equipment system, which allows you to create and use a wide variety of devices, gadgets, weapons, and vehicles that can enhance your abilities, create challenges and conflicts, or simply add flavor and atmosphere to your story."

Angry Golem Games Stars Without Number Equipment Database is a solid guide book for the additional equipment that one needs for the Stars Without Number rpg. This book has a lot of material that a DM and players need for thier own SWN campaigns.
This book has been updated with more droids, drones, and more. This means that the DM has common sense rules for SWN from this supplement. There's more then enough equipment in here to help to customize your SWN PC's.
There's some fantastic pieces of equipment, weapons, and more to prove your campaigns with more diverse devices, and more within.

Angry Golem Games Stars Without Number Equipment Database is solidly done and pivots the game in  smaller interstellar adventures. There's some great scavenger rules for SWN revised rules.

SWN Revised is such a great game and the  Stars Without Number Equipment Database enhances an already fantastic game. The cyberware within this supplement is great to enhance the Cities Without Numbers game. The switch from classes to edges is very true to the Cyberpunk genre.

The  Stars Without Number Equipment Database is perfect for both a Space Opera & a Cyberpunk rpg. For OSR games SWN is still the gold standard for Science Fiction rpg's. Campaigns set within the SWN timeline are easily able to plug into these two genres. The equipment is almost another NPC's in these games. This means that the player's PC's are enhanced by the devices, relics, artifacts, ships, etc.

Review & Commentary On Angry Golem Game's STARS WITHOUT NUMBER - TRADE GOODS GENERATOR 300 For The Stars Without Number Revised Rpg

"The Stars Without Number compatible Trade Goods Generator contains two 3-pages files.

1st file: This is a canonic trade goods generator useful to generate loot and goods very quickly.

2nd file: The second file is a replica of the first, but it is tuned to work with Suns of Gold Merchant Campaign."

"Trade Goods organized in four categories:

1) Materials & Technological Stuff (100 TRADE GOODS)

2) Warfare (100 TRADE GOODS)

3) Organic, Chemicals & Stuff (100 TRADE GOODS)

4) Extra section from the last update with a wide array of minerals and othe elements."

Once upon a time I had a highly successful Stars Without Numbers Revised /Cepheus Engine rpg campaign. And then a death in our rpg family caused it to implode. Well with recent events my notebooks have been in my hand again. And one of those notebooks indicated Angry Golem Games STARS WITHOUT NUMBER - TRADE GOODS GENERATOR 300. Now with the OGL fiasco interest has been renewed. More on why later on. Let's journey back to the haycon days of our Suns of Gold: Merchant Campaigns for Stars Without Number. There was no worry that Cowards of the Coast was going to take away the livelihood of friends & we were playing for the enjoyment of the game campaign. We've recently had this enjoyment again with the Clement Sector rpg  mini  campaign.

Our Suns of Gold campaign was set in the Washington sector which is next to the Clement sector separated by the Divide a literal huge expanse of nothing between these sectors. They can receive transmissions but that's it. Or so we thought. The Suns of Gold campaign was full of Scavenger Fleets acting as space borne locusts that gobbled up any trade ships they came across.
And here's where the
Angry Golem Games STARS WITHOUT NUMBER - TRADE GOODS GENERATOR 300 comes in really handy. There are two files full of trade goods perfect to stock trade ships that have vanished into the void. We used a few ancient United Planet Cruisers as investigative craft to investigate these disappearances.
PC's were really after the goodies that were in the holds of the patched together trade ships. And the thirteen page trade goods generator does a great job for a Suns of Gold campaign. Into every life a bit of rain must fall and fall it will when several pirate groups by John Watts come to call in the Washington Sector.

How did the pirate factions get to the Washington Sector & why are they there?! What secrets does a possible alliance with the Scavenger fleets hold?! The Angry Golem Games STARS WITHOUT NUMBER - TRADE GOODS GENERATOR is a key part of this. Because it allows me to generate cargos & carryon trade goods on the fly. So that unto itself makes the trade goods generator worth getting for me to get the players interested & hold their interest!

Review & Commentary On Angry Golem Game's The Stars Without Number The Starship Database For Stars Without Numbers Revised & Other Science Fiction OSR Systems

What leads one around the bend & back again?! In these uncertain times one thing is certain everything falls apart. And the center can not hold. What led me to Cepheus Engine & eventually back to classic Traveller. What led to this rabbit hole?! The death of a dear friend who was in our Stars without Numbers Revised campaign sent our first group of players into a death spiral. Our group of players picked up the pieces and started back with Cepheus Engine. But after the recent events with Cowards of the Coast, we've been talking back up plan. Which led us back to Stars Without Number again & then I started looking at Angry Golem Games again. This led to The Stars Without Number The Starship Database

The Stars Without Number The Starship Database is well layed out, has a nice smattering of starships & works very well at only thirty pages of starships & supplemental material for SWN revised. And the starships are actually well done & they do fit the era as well as the asthetic that Angry Golem Games is going for here.

Confession time,I really love the SWN revised  backstory and fluff. But the space combat bothers me on a number of levels. After going through Cepheus Engine rpg combat & running campaigns. We switched out the SWN revised  space combat system over to Cepheus Engine rpg. And it still works quite nicely. Where we would use the The Stars Without Number The Starship Database? After looking it over the various types here such as the:
AVISPA - Tactical Boarding Shuttle

BASILISK - Tactical Bomber

HESTIA - Farm Ship

HORIZONTE - Fuel Station

HORUS - Science Vessel

IRON KNIGHT - Space Truck

RUDRA - Strategic Orbital Bomber

SOBOLAN - Smuggler Corvette

STIRGE - Tactical Interceptor

YAN-SHU - Mining Barge

These starships are perfectly suited to use in the high frontier of either the Clement Sector or the Earth Sector of Independence games.

While I do realize that The Stars Without Number The Starship Database fits a particular set of parameters within the SWN revised rpg. The beauty of these ships is that they would not look out of place within a Michael Johnson Earth sector or Clement sector starport. The Stars without Number The Starship Database is a solid entry into the Angry Golem games catalog of products.
