The Fandrin - Undead Robots Who Hunger For The Flesh Of The Living

A Fandrin discovered as "her" disguise  slowly  rots away
The Fandrin  were a thriving galactic offshoot of humanity  that after the Atomic wars had colonized over thirty 20 different systems. They had always been leaders in the area of advanced medical & cybernetic replacement systems for failing organs until cloned ones could be made.
It was however never enough. In the 12th year of the Emperor scientists of the Fandrin came across an alien artifact that had the power to transfer life force between humanoids. The artifact was however damaged eons before. There is speculation that this artifact might be one of the Great Race of Yith's lost devices. In one night the Fandrin created their crowning moment when they would give up the flesh of their humanity for the cold mechanical perfection of their steel ones.
The process worked to well & while most of the race was transferred to their bodies they were driven mad by the experience. The creatures demanded their flesh back even while they struggled to adjust to their new existence.
These days the Fandrin have evolved into nothing more then freakish machines saddled with the undead life essence. Some of them disguise themselves in the flesh of the living until it rots off. Others simply drain anyone they meet to sustain their own wrecked existence. They are pitiful creatures but many renegade pirates often employ one or two for torture & worse duties.
The Fandrin now are often found drifting from on place to another. Many have been found in coffins & storage crates simply trying to sleep & forget their existence.
No. Enc.: 1-6
Alignment: Inimical
Move: 120'(40’)
Armor Class: 4
Hit Dice: 5
Attacks: 2
Damage: 1d8 claws
Morale: 7

They use their claws to cut away the flesh of their victims. They use a combination of psionics & nano factories to build the flesh & muscle needed to fill their new flesh.
Those in their presence may begin to feel tired, worn out & begin to fall ill. The monsters will drain 1d6 attributes every 1d4 rounds unless a saving throw is made.
They are armed with a z ray rifle if found in their Fandrin 7 coffins.

These monsters must make a save ever 1d4 rounds or begin their unholy lust for the flesh of the living even if they are friends or crew mates

  1. Interesting idea. The phrase "undead robot" makes me chuckle. Sort of like Timely Comics' "Human Robot."
