Four New Magic Rings for Castles & Crusades

1. Ring of the Zenith Scholar

This smooth, polished brass ring glows faintly when the wearer is actively pondering a riddle or reading ancient script. It is highly valued by Wizards and Sages.

  • Ability: Grants the wearer a +2 bonus on all Intelligence checks.

  • Effect: The ring allows the wearer to briefly hold and synthesize a vast amount of information. Once per day, the wearer may attempt an Intelligence Attribute Check (Difficulty 18) to instantly recall a forgotten piece of lore, a specific historical detail, or the weakness of a known monster. Success provides the needed piece of information. Failure means the information is too obscure or was never known to them.

  • CL: 5th

  • Aura: Faint Divination

2. Ring of the Iron Will

This ring is crafted from dark, dull iron and is surprisingly heavy. It is cold to the touch and gives the wearer a feeling of unyielding determination.

  • Ability: Grants the wearer a +2 bonus on all Willpower checks.

  • Effect: The ring helps the wearer resist coercion and mind-altering effects. Once per day, when the wearer fails a saving throw against a charm, compulsion, or fear effect, they may immediately re-roll the saving throw at a -2 penalty. They must accept the result of the second roll.

  • CL: 7th

  • Aura: Moderate Abjuration

3. Ring of the Spry Hunter

Made of intertwined silver and hardened leather cord, this ring is often worn by Rangers, Rogues, and anyone who relies on quick movement and dexterity in the wilderness.

  • Ability: Grants the wearer a +2 bonus on all Dexterity checks.

  • Effect: The wearer gains an unusual swiftness of foot. Once per encounter, as a free action, the wearer may move up to 10 feet without provoking an attack of opportunity from a single, designated target. This must be a contiguous movement (e.g., ducking past a guard, or slipping around a giant).

  • CL: 4th

  • Aura: Faint Transmutation

4. Ring of the Sunken King's Vigor

This heavy, copper ring is tarnished and etched with strange, swirling runes that resemble waves or whirlpools. It smells faintly of sea salt and mud.

  • Ability: Grants the wearer a +2 bonus on all Constitution checks.

  • Effect: The ring grants a temporary boost of resilience. Once per short rest (or once per 8 hours), the wearer may activate the ring to gain 5 temporary hit points. These hit points last for 1 hour or until they are lost, whichever comes first. This activation is a free action.

  • CL: 6th

  • Aura: Moderate Necromancy (though the effect is positive, the source is draining)
