Review & Commentary On (In)Sanatorium By Sílvia Clemente, & Miguel Ribeiro For The Wretched Époque Rpg From The Red Room

"Through the small French town of Royat flows a stream of miraculous water. Still, the spring’s history is also connected to ancient ghost stories, and the locals prefer to avoid it just in case. Until the day an eccentric Russian prince is cured of his long ailment and decides to share the water miracle with the world, building a unique avant-garde Sanatorium & Spa Resort.
However, the townspeople were actually right by fearing those ancient tales; something ancient, unnatural and dangerous lurks in the shadows of the sanatorium and the preternatural cure may come with a heavy price. The answer to this mystery is in the water."

Sílvia Clemente, & Miguel Ribeiro worry me a lot because they come out with some killer content, take for example  (In)Sanatorium their new Lovecraftian adventure for  thier  horror old school game Wretched Époque Rpg.

(In)Sanatorium By Sílvia Clemente, & Miguel Ribeiro For The Wretched Époque Rpg is a wicked little adventure & I don't say this lightly. (In)Sanatorium is deep in Lovecraftian weirdness right from the get go. And it's a vicious little romp & Silvia's streak here for writing adventures that will cripple a Wretched party are on full display. Take the mysterious set up please; "Through the small French town of Royat flows a stream of miraculous water. Still, the spring’s history is also connected to ancient ghost stories, and the locals prefer to avoid it just in case. Until the day an eccentric Russian prince is cured of his long ailment and decides to share the water miracle with the world, building a unique avantgarde Sanatorium & Spa Resort. However, the townspeople were actually right by fearing those ancient tales; something ancient, unnatural and dangerous lurks in the shadows of the sanatorium and the preternatural cure may come with a heavy price. The answer to this mystery is in the water."
With a cast of NPC characters that are fully developed & very dangerous. There are secrets here and those secrets can kill right from the ground up. Or drive the PC's insane with little focus on the safety of the characters involved.
The encounters here revolve around the spa & it's corrupt Lovecraftian nature. And in sixty three pages we get the full tour & measure of the place. A place that could become the focus for an entire mini campaign & that's no joke. The waters here in (In)Sanatorium run still, deep, & full of madness! There's madness & corruption within  plot upon plot here with PC's waiting to revolve themselves within the lives of staff, patients, and more. And for the Wretched Époque Rpg (In)Sanatorium By Sílvia Clemente, & Miguel Ribeiro is a must get.

(In)Sanatorium By Sílvia Clemente, & Miguel Ribeiro is a generational horror rpg adventure and the horror of it stretches way beack into the mists of time. And (In)Sanatorium takes full advantage of the Lovecraft palette from basic horror to the cosmic expression that can take a Wretched Époque Rpg party of adventurers to edge of insanity & beyond. For three dollars this is an excellent OSR adventure!
