"From L.A. I Can See Los Farport" An Amazing Expansion Using MMD#3 Villains of the Undercity adventure from Maximum Mayhem Dungeons.

"Danger lurks at every corner of the small coastal city of Los Farport. The locals insist people are being abducted in the night and taken into into the bowels of the rumored “Undercity Dungeon” below. A lone survivor managed to escape and give some information before dying in your arms: “Secret door... Tavern of the Wiley Wench... Ugh!” You and your brave team of adventurers have decided to investigate these rumors, plunder the dungeon and destroy the dreaded “Villains of the Undercity!” ...right after you loot his still warm body, of course."

We are of course talking about Villains of the Undercity adventure  from  Maximum Mayhem Dungeons. What if the small coastal city of Los Farport quietly merged with the 1902 port of  Los Angeles? Los Angeles during this period was part of a boom time for the city but there were many seedy elements down in the port areas & low lying districts.

This is the perfect opportunity to slip in some of your fantasy adventurers into the mix of 1990's L.A. & to get on board with a mix of capes, caps, & murders. Wendell the architect behind the events of Maximum Mayhem #3 Villains of the Undercity adventure is the perfect foil for the underworld of L.A. Wendal sets up shop & begins to challenge adventurers & other outworlders.

Wendel continues his operation right as the city begins to start playing a vital role in World War One.  He's the perfect foil to bring his style  with the promise of treasure, puzzles, & horrors to the world. As for the system I'd use to run
Villains of the Undercity adventure ? I'd use Castles & Crusades  to bring this to life to really give the whole affair a more modernist feel. Merging a down town Hollywood magic or occult academy could give the whole campaign  affair an OSR  gravitas with the years occult & dangerous supernatural leanings. With World War one coming the city is poised to make a mint in cargo & shipping. Wendel isn't stupid far from it. His criminal organization is poised to make a nice mint from the war & he can take his rage out any Pulp, cape, or fantasy adventurers that come along.

The question becomes would Wendell advise & sell relics to the Germans through his thieves guild contacts? The question is vital to the extension of using  Villains of the Undercity adventure  as campaign jump point from dungeon master's perception?

The possibilities here are endless as the PC's are perfectly suited to get in way over their heads with Wendell's hi jinks. Gilded Age Los Angeles is the perfect place to really twist the PC's in knots & not have them expect it. Using some German occultist advisers on U.S. soil would also really cause the PC's some headaches.

Now the
Villains of the Undercity adventure  is a perfect set up for characters because its levels 1- 3 & has the potential to really explode out into a campaign. The NPC's are engaging, the setting is dire & down dirty like Gilded Age Hollywood. And there's the potential to really shape this into a viable campaign setting for Amazing Adventures ! Rpg
