GRAB IT RIGHT OVER HERE
Now they've partnered with D-oom Products to sell their adventures in Finland! Congrats to 3 Toadstool publishing. But back to The Mad God's Jest, this is a dive into the mind of a mad man and has elements of role playing, dungeon crawling and sword and sorcery weirdness all within the framework of an old school adventure. Created to work with Labyrinth Lord, this adventure should function with a bit of modification with any OSR style rpg system with little issue with a bit of fifth grade mathematics and DM slight of hand.
"Deep inside the mind of Captain Sherborne, he's cracked. His dreams haunted by a Harlot. However nothing is what it seems. He wanders the world looking for brave souls to help him. Will you? Includes 1 hand drawn map, 4 pre generated characters. And a bunch of fun tables! "
There are some really weird themes at play in this adventure and plenty of opportunity for a DM to customize this adventure as they see fit. The Mad God's Jest has elements of Morecock and Robert Howard style action that would fit right into the world of Astonishing Swordsmen and Sorcerers of Hyperborea or the deeper end of a Lamentations of the Flame Princess campaign set on the coasts of Europe. There are several key NPC's that the dungeon master might want to introduce in other adventures so that the PC's have a touch stone with the events of the Mad God's Jest. The dark aspects of this one are going to play merry havoc with them as the players try to figure out what the hell is going on within the bounds of the adventure. This sure is a fun little adventure to play around with. There's some really dangerous stuff going on in this one and I don't want to ruin the surprises happening within. The maps are solidly done and this adventure would make an excellent weekend adventure or convention style game set up to play with.
So do I think that the Mad God's Jest worth the the time and energy for down loading? Yes, yes, I do actually.
