It Came From The Dollar Comic Bin - The 1d10 Random Predator Find Table For Your Old School Post Apocalyptic Campaign

The 1d10 Random Predator Find Table

  1. 1d8 Skinless Corpses With Their Spines & Skulls Removed
  2. +2 techno spear capable of piercing steel embedded in a wall.
  3. A pile of organs and corpse parts behind which is mono molecular net which does 1d4 points of damage to anyone who touches it.
  4. A neatly cut off hand with a flint lock clutched in it still loaded
  5. Diced Full plate armored shoulder and arm still containing the arm
  6. A single bloody wizard's stuck in the ground covered in gore.
  7. A light weight +1 dart covered in brain matter stuck nearby
  8. An alien skull and spin utterly clean and laser etched at the base
  9. 1d6 minor treasures and gems covered in gore with bits of bone in them. These items are cursed with bad luck
  10. A single broken +1 razor sharp claw that looks like it's part of some larger weapon. Shattered and broken near the base but still usable

The late 80's and early 90's gave us the predator series. Time and again I've seen these guys turn up in OD&D games. It's become such an expected even I've used the above table to screw with players. The items turn up from time to time but the Predators never turn up.
The other day I was in my local comic book shop and stumbled across a whole bunch of Dark Horse comics featuring a number of versus titles. It seemed that there were hordes of these titles and the Predators were showing up everyplace. I kept expecting to see 'The Predator vs Mary Poppins'. I do love the first two movies though and the comics are fun. The species has appeared in my post apocalyptic games from time to time. And I admit using them in a few super hero campaigns. The short below inspired more then a few games. I got together with a few friends and rewatched  the first two films. Still pretty fun stuff.

This blog entry is a homage to one my favorite comic series and movies. It is not a challenge to the trademarks and copy writes to any of the owners of this material nor the makers of the above short. The table and blog entries are for entertainment only.
