My brain is simply boiling over with ideas from the eye popping riot of stuff over at the Monster Brain blog! These comics came out in the 70s or early 80s. I remember seeing a selection of these bastards when I lived in Boston in the 1990s and not picking them up. I've been kicking myself ever since. There have got to be a metric ton of adventure ideas for Carcosa or any science fantasy game inspired by the 1970s!
WHOA!
Check these out over HERE!
I have got to talk with the wife about picking me up some of these in the U.K.! My brain is melting! Flipping awesome !
Big Thanks to Monster Brains for finding these!
Excellent! Thanks for the link!
ReplyDeleteGreat to see these covers, Needles!
ReplyDeleteThere is also a FATE-based "Starblazer Adventures RPG" that is licensed game inspired by the comics, with tons of Starblazer art. The GM screen for the game is stunning. SBA is an amazing sandbox space opera RPG, and I post a lot on the game over at FATE SF.
Awesome stuff, Needles. I need to get my hands on this comic.
ReplyDeleteGiles Kiser- Glad to provide the link and thanks for the comment!
ReplyDeleteJohn Till - The game is by Cublical 7 and someone sent me an email about it today. I've got to get my hands on it to take a look. I'll take a stroll over to your blog again and search through in the next 25 hours or so.
edowarsblog - YES YOU DO! These look great and I'm kinda excited to find these after so many years!
Glad everyone liked these! There's more coming up ladies and gentlemen! Stay tuned!
@Needles: The FATE system might or might not be to your taste, but Starblazer Adventures would definitely inspire you! There's descriptions of the aliens and adversaries in the comics, a chronology of the comics' setting(s) and characters, issue summaries for the comics, and much, much more. It is also one of the largest page count RPGs ever printed.
ReplyDeleteJohn Till -
ReplyDeleteIts now on want list for "DrivethruRpg"! Can't wait to take a look at it. Thanks for the extensive overview. And we've got more coming up
