In pages of Dragon magazine were select pieces of fantasy & science fiction from any number of authors including the TSR staff. These pieces of literature ran the gamut from the fantastic to the mundane. The stories were my first real taste of interesting fantasy. This anthology of short stories harkens back to those days of yore.
"A collection of fantasy short stories from noted fantasy game designers and authors James M.Ward, Frank Mentzer, Christopher Clark, and Tim Kask. Walk with an elf masquerading as a human, discover the story behind Lich Dungeon and The False Prints, explore the world of Tim Kask and much, much more. This anthology is guaranteed to entertain you for more than a few trips on the plane."
This book clocks in at 300 & change of pages. The stories are definiately of the old school variety & range the gamut from science fantasy to the pure end of fantasy. They betray their old school roots & consistantly show their foundation. James M.Ward, Frank Mentzer, Christopher Clark, and Tim Kask all do a fine job of creating the atmosphere of the world of their modules. This a world of Bold Adventure & sly humor in the best of the old tradition.
Three & 1/2 Skulls out of Four I don't want to get into the deep & dark of some of these stories but they do set the tone & make one want to run an adventure or two in the campaign worlds of the author.
For light old school fantasy this is a good anthology of Heroes & Magic. You can find this & other products by Eldritch Enterprises right Here
