When the Ngorgwelororug blew themselves & their star system apart they left a rich cultural history behind & one of the most prolific mining opportunities behind. The system is filled with rich deposites of all types of ore. The problem being that the place is claimed by the xenophobic Hokiqurthisk. Hokiqurthisk see the system as their religious sanctum against all chaos. They believe that the system's resources must be shared in an orderly fashion & should be available in 600 years.
The interstellar community doesn't see it this way. Hokiqurthisk have locked their claim of the fields in an interstellar court. One would think that this would be the end of the issue.
Never. Several Ngorgwelororug artifacts have begun to surface on the black market in many pirate towns.
These of course include the astronomical charts of this dead culture. Pirate alchemists being the busy lot that they are have already deciphered several hyper spatial back doors into the ore rich system. They have begun selling charts into this system.
However all is not quiet in the systems & planets.
The riches are guarded

Many crews have claimed their riches but at a high cost indeed.
Hundreds of unexplained deaths have occurred.

The rage & anger of a billion colonists are found in these worlds . They may be defeated for a time but they will plot revenge on those who trespass on their homes!
The calcium theft is a unique touch.
